Job Description

Position Overview McGinty & Associates is a local CPA firm serving clients throughout the Texas Panhandle as well as clients nationwide. We provide a variety of accounting services, including tax preparation, payroll, and financial statement preparation. We are looking for a dependable, organized, and friendly Receptionist / Secretary to join our team in Hereford, Texas. This position is an important part of our office and will be responsible for creating a welcoming experience for clients while providing administrative and clerical support to our accounting staff. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with people, can communicate professionally, pays close attention to detail, and is comfortable handling a variety of responsibilities in a busy office environment . On-the-job training is available for the right candidate. Duties and Responsibilities Answer and direct incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner Greet clients and visitors as they arrive and provide assistance as needed Assist clients with questions and direct them to the appropriate staff member Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail Prepare and send outgoing mail and correspondence Make bank deposits and handle routine banking-related errands File and organize paperwork and client documents Maintain organized and accurate office files Assist with scanning, copying, printing, and other general office tasks Enter and maintain information using Microsoft Word and Excel Assist accounting staff with administrative and clerical duties as needed Maintain confidentiality of client and company information Help keep the reception area and office organized and professional Perform other duties as assigned Skills and Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills Friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with clients Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities Strong attention to detail and accuracy Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to learn new software and office procedures Professional telephone etiquette Dependable, punctual, and responsible Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information Professional appearance and attitude Previous receptionist, administrative, or office experience is helpful but not required Accounting or bookkeeping experience is a plus, but training is available Compensation Pay rate is based on experience and qualifications. Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
