Schedule:
Sunday-Thursday, 1:00 PM-8:30
PM Pay:
$18-$20/hour
Position Type:
Part-Time / Full-Time — depending on availability We are a small woman-owned dog boarding, daycare, and grooming facility looking for a reliable, hardworking, dog-loving professional to join our team in a receptionist and dog-caretaker role. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and animals and is looking for an opportunity to grow within a professional environment.
What You'll Do:
This is NOT a typical desk receptionist position . While you will have receptionist and office responsibilities, the job is also highly hands-on and labor intensive.
Your responsibilities may include:
Greeting clients and providing excellent customer service Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling administrative tasks Caring for and safely handling dogs throughout the day Cleaning kennels and work areas Hiking and exercising dogs Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility Assisting with daily kennel operations including potties, rotations, feedings, and medication administration Communicating professionally with clients and coworkers Learning and assisting with additional responsibilities as you grow within the company Training Requirements The first two weeks of employment will be dedicated to kennel training BEFORE beginning office/receptionist training. Week 1: Morning kennel shifts to learn our kennel procedures and dog-handling expectations Week 2: Afternoon/evening kennel shifts After successful completion of kennel training: Begin training for office and receptionist responsibilities We want every team member to understand our dogs, facility, procedures, and daily operations before moving into the office role.
Qualifications Required:
At least 2 years of receptionist experience in a professional office setting Excellent customer service and communication skills Professional, dependable, and punctual Excellent grammar Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Comfortable handling dogs of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including cleaning, lifting, walking/hiking, and extended periods on your feet
MUST LOVE DOGS!
Preferred:
College degree or currently working toward a college degree We encourage those working in animal science, psychology, teaching, or similar fields Previous animal-care, veterinary, boarding, daycare, or kennel experience Growth Opportunities We believe in promoting from within. You will be handling dogs, cleaning, hiking, moving around the facility, and helping wherever needed. The job can be physically demanding, and every day may look a little different. If you are looking for a strictly sedentary receptionist job, this is not the position for you.
