About Us Palacios Veterinary Clinic is a community-focused, mixed-animal veterinary practice serving the pets, livestock, and families of our coastal Texas community. We pride ourselves on providing compassionate care, building lasting relationships with our clients, and supporting one another as a team. We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our team! Job Summary The Veterinary Receptionist is often the first point of contact for our clients and plays an important role in creating a positive experience for both pets and their owners. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people and animals, communicates well, stays organized in a busy environment, and works well as part of a team. Veterinary experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person who has a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities Greet clients and their pets in a friendly, professional manner. Answer incoming phone calls and respond to client text messages. Schedule appointments, manage the appointment calendar, and assist with check-ins and checkouts. Maintain accurate client and patient records in the practice management system. Process payments, prepare invoices, and assist with estimates. Communicate with veterinarians and veterinary technicians regarding client needs and patient updates. Assist with prescription refill requests and direct medication questions to the appropriate medical staff. Help maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming reception area. Assist with client questions regarding vaccines, wellness visits, boarding, grooming, and other clinic services. Handle client concerns with patience, professionalism, and compassion. Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to keep daily operations running smoothly. Qualifications Friendly, professional, and customer-service-oriented attitude. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn. Comfortable working around dogs, cats, and other animals. Basic computer skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while also being a team player. Previous receptionist, customer service, or veterinary experience is preferred but not required. Additional Requirements Must successfully pass a Background check and Drug Screening. What We're Looking For We want someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and caring for animals. The ideal candidate is a team player who is dependable, takes initiative, treats clients with kindness, and understands the importance of making every client feel welcome. Veterinary medicine can be busy and unpredictable, so flexibility, patience, and a positive attitude are important. We are looking for someone who wants to become part of our clinic family and contribute to the care we provide to our community. How to Apply If you are dependable, personable, and excited about working with people and animals, we would love to hear from you! Please submit your resume through Indeed for consideration.
