Operate POS systems and cash registers to process payments efficiently while maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with HIPAA and health regulation policies. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about eyewear options, explaining lens features, and guiding patients through selection processes. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies when handling sensitive medical records and ensure compliance with state healthcare regulations. Support laboratory tasks such as eyewear frame adjustments, optical laboratory processing, and quality control to ensure high standards of product delivery. Requirements Proven experience or education in ophthalmology, optics, or retail optometry is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs measurement techniques. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic for managing patient records efficiently. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse patient populations including pediatrics. Understanding of HIPAA regulations, clinical confidentiality policies, and health regulation policies to ensure compliance at all times. Experience operating POS systems or cash registers within a retail or healthcare setting is advantageous. Basic math skills for handling transactions, insurance coding, and inventory management.
