This position is ideal for an experienced medical office professional who enjoys working with patients, supporting a team, and keeping daily front office operations running smoothly. Position Summary The Front Office Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily front office activities, supporting patient access, and providing exceptional customer service. This role works closely with physicians, clinical staff, patients, and practice leadership to ensure efficient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and patient flow. The Front Office Coordinator also serves as a resource to front office staff and assists with training, workflow coordination, and resolution of routine patient concerns. Responsibilities Coordinate daily front office operations and workflows. Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Perform patient check-in and check-out. Accurately collect and enter patient demographic information. Verify insurance eligibility and coverage. Assist with referrals and authorizations as needed. Maintain accurate patient information in the EHR and practice management system. Coordinate appointments for new patients, follow-ups, diagnostic testing, procedures, and specialty services. Monitor patient flow and communicate concerns to leadership. Assist with resolving routine patient concerns and escalate issues when appropriate. Support front office staff with questions, workflows, and procedures. Assist with training and onboarding new front office employees. Promote teamwork, accountability, and professionalism. Assist with reports, audits, quality improvement initiatives, and records requests. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and company policies. Support office opening and closing procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 2+ years of healthcare or medical office experience preferred. Experience working in a physician or specialty practice preferred. Experience with scheduling, registration, insurance verification, or patient check-in/check-out preferred. Previous lead or supervisory experience is a plus. Strong customer service and communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare workflows preferred. Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
