Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to support our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of medical office operations. This role involves managing patient interactions, maintaining accurate medical records, and providing essential administrative support to ensure smooth clinic functioning. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and a proactive approach to patient service. This position starts as part-time with opportunity for full-time as our clinic grows. Full benefits are available at 30+ hours per week. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression at the front desk. Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Verify insurance coverage. Manage patient records with accuracy. Handle phone communication with patients, providers, and insurance companies while maintaining proper phone etiquette. Assist with medical billing and collection efforts related to medical charges. Maintain clinic organization through filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing medical records securely. Support clinical staff. Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite for report generation and administrative tasks. Ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards. Experience High school diploma or GED required; vocational certificate or degree in a medical office or healthcare administration field is a plus. Minimum 1 year experience working in a medical/behavioral office environment or healthcare setting is required. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of medical billing procedures. Strong understanding of health insurance processes and healthcare documentation review. Bilingual abilities is required in order to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Excellent organizational skills combined with clerical experience in a busy clinic setting. Outstanding verbal communication, a pleasant and professional phone voice, and a compassionate, customer-first attitude. Proven customer service skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining professionalism.
