Shift Hours:

4:00pm-12:30am The payrate after conversion as direct hire on 1st shift will be 19.98. The payrate after conversion as direct hire on 2nd shift will be 19.98 + Shift differential ($0.40) The position will be for 2nd shift and training may be on 1st or 2nd shift depending on business needs.

Note:

This site is unionized, and workers will be eligible for conversions after 90 days of employment. Additionally, once they become FTE, they will receive a pay increase every 6 months thereafter.

Description:

Six months to 18 months experience; inspect and test wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits for resistance factors and for operation; and record results. Assemble electrical or electronic systems and support structures; and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, and assembly casings, using rivets, bolts, soldering and micro-welding equipment. Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications. Clean parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths. Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports in order to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions. Mark and tag components so that stock inventory can be tracked and identified. Position, align, and adjust work pieces and electrical parts to facilitate wiring and assembly. Pack finished assemblies for shipment and transport them to storage areas, using hoists or hand trucks. Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan and review work activities, and to resolve production problems. Explain assembly procedures or techniques to other workers.

JOB STATEMENT

Assembles or modifies electromechanical equipment (e.g. Switchboards, Lighting panels etc.) with the use of mechanical tools and blueprints.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

:

High School Diploma :

Minimum of 6 months of experience in assembly : Training in assembly Basic hand tools, power tools, reading and interpreting blueprints : Basic computer skills, and use of basic mechanical/measuring tools. : Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language Must be able to reach, grasp, lift 50 lbs., and push/pull/slide heavy material Must be able to make coordinated movements of the hands and arms to grasp and move objects. Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, crawl, and climb : Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a reliable form of transportation

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Operates tools and equipment common to the mechanical trade (e.g. hand & power tools). Processes work orders (with the use of computers, scanning devices, etc.) in adherence to the production schedule or expedited orders. Scans in and out of work orders (with the use of computers, scanning devices, etc.) in adherence to the production schedule or expedited orders. Reads and interprets documents associated with the completion of mechanical assembly assignments (e.g. blueprints, bill of materials, one line diagrams, etc.). Gathers parts and accessories required in the assembly process. Assembles fabricated parts to create unit assemblies (Switchboards & Lighting Panels) or subassemblies. Fastens component parts on cubicles or frames, subassemblies, or unit assemblies. Connects cables and basic wires. Verifies that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements. Disassembles units to adjust or replace parts. Marks unit assemblies with identifying information and/or attaches identifying tags. Reports non-conforming items (e.g. parts, schematics, blue prints, etc.) Prepares finished units for shipping (e.g. packing, sealing, labeling, etc.) Cleans and maintains equipment and work area to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions. Accesses and utilizes various documents, with the use of computers, associated with the manufacture of products in assembly (e.g. Quality and Safety Documents, Operating Instructions, etc.) Performs other work as directed by Supervision.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

: Job involves typically working indoors, being assigned to any of the different shifts, occasionally lifting heavy materials, wearing common safety equipment (e.g. cut-resistant gloves and sleeves, safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.) being exposed to loud noises and the possibility of bumps, cuts, scrapes, and strains. : The following are behaviors essential to being successful in this job.
