Overview Working under general supervision, the Electronic Technician performs support functions for electronic controls and related components for retail merchandise supply chain conveying and sortation systems to ensure the efficient flow of merchandise in and out of the facility. Duties Maintains and repairs all electronic components of equipment such as balers, printer/appliers, scales, barcode scanning systems, automated guided vehicles, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), computers, related communication network devices, radios and telephone systems. Responsible for designing PLC systems, as well as providing maintenance for programmable devices used in production equipment Test performance of PLCs and human machine interfaces (HMIs) Repair and debug control devices to avoid production loss Create sketches of control circuits using specialized computer programs, as well as documentation base on the schematics and wiring plans for each device Label circuit wiring, test and monitor equipment for compliance with engineering specifications, and identify operational problems Installs, trouble shoots, maintains and repairs automation controls and equipment including, but not limited to, PLCs, computers, HMIs and barcode scanning systems Assists other technicians in the performance of maintenance activities and/or provides training/guidance Electronically logs scheduled inspection reports of the operating equipment, fixed building equipment and building structures, maintenance, repairs and other records and schedules Follows federal, state and local electrical and building codes when planning and conducting work Adheres to all operational, loss prevention and safety standards which includes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Performs other duties as assigned

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Working knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and tools used in troubleshooting, repairing and testing automation control systems along with their components and must be affluent with PLCs including programming

Pay:

$29.60 - $44.40 per hour
