In this energetic role, you will leverage your climbing skills and horticultural knowledge to perform tree care, removal, and pruning tasks with precision and safety. Your expertise will help enhance the environment while ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, develop specialized skills in arboriculture, and contribute to community beautification projects. Responsibilities Safely ascend trees using climbing gear and rigging techniques to perform pruning, trimming, or removal operations. Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment to access high branches efficiently. Implement arborist rigging techniques for controlled tree dismantling or branch removal, ensuring safety for team members and surroundings. Conduct tree care activities including pruning, trimming, planting, and health assessments based on horticultural best practices. Use chainsaws and other power tools responsibly for cutting, shaping, or removing trees and limbs. Apply knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) to map and document tree locations and health status for maintenance planning. Follow strict safety protocols during all operations to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with industry standards. Assist with landscaping tasks such as lawn care, plant pruning care, and landscape maintenance to support overall site aesthetics. Perform rigging for complex tree removals or limb disassembly using arborist techniques to minimize impact on surrounding areas. Maintain equipment including chainsaws, bucket trucks, rigging gear, and safety harnesses through regular inspections and proper handling. Experience Prior outdoor work experience involving tree climbing, landscaping, or horticulture is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with bucket truck operation and arborist rigging techniques. Knowledge of tree care practices including pruning, trimming, disease identification (dendrology), and general plant health management. Familiarity with GIS mapping tools used in landscape or forestry projects. Experience with chainsaw operation in a safe manner adhering to all safety protocols. Understanding of landscape maintenance principles such as lawn care and general landscaping tasks. Growing experience in horticulture or related fields is advantageous for understanding plant growth patterns and care needs. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality work standards.
