Field Manager (Part-Time)
Location:
Sonoma Valley, CA Hours:
Approximately 3-6 hours per week seasonal - Late August-First Weekend of November primarily Friday afternoons/evenings and Saturday mornings
Compensation:
Hourly, $25-30 Position Summary The Field Manager is responsible for ensuring Sonoma Valley United game fields are properly set up and ready for Saturday matches, while helping maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming environment for players, coaches, referees, and families. This position also assists with volunteer coordination and field preparation throughout the season. Primary ResponsibilitiesFriday Field Relining (Late Afternoon/Early Evening) Coordinate with Volunteers to complete weekly field relining at MacArthur Park Charter School (formerly Prestwood Elementary), Sonoma Valley High School grass fields, and Hanna Center by 7:00 PM each Friday. Perform the following (approximately 4-6pm): Prepare field lining carts and boxes of paint (2 carts per field location) Meet with Volunteers to describe field lining process and get them started Return to all fields after lining is complete (approximately 5-7pm): Consolidate all used paint cans and boxes, and empty into recycling dumpster Return field lining carts to designated sheds Saturday Field Setup (Morning) Coordinate with Volunteers to complete field setup at MacArthur Park Charter School (formerly Prestwood Elementary), Sonoma Valley High School grass fields, and Hanna Center by 8:00 AM each Saturday.
Set out:
Tiny Cleats Inflatable Field (MacArthur Park Charter School only). Team benches & pop-up tents. Garbage cans (with plastic garbage bags). Corner flags & field signs. Ensure fields are game-ready and equipment is properly placed. Saturday Field Breakdown (Afternoon) Coordinate with Volunteers to complete field breakdown at MacArthur Park Charter School (formerly Prestwood Elementary), Sonoma Valley High School grass fields, and Hanna Center by 12:30 PM each Saturday. Return to all game locations after the final matches. Deflate and fold up Tiny Cleats Inflatable Field. Collect and store all equipment in designated sheds. Empty garbage cans into dumpsters. Ensure facilities are clean and secured before leaving. Volunteer Coordination Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator and Director of Recreation to: Coordinate volunteer field-lining assignments. Track volunteer attendance and completion of assigned responsibilities. Report volunteer participation as requested. Field Preparation Assist with lining soccer fields on Fridays when volunteer coverage is unavailable or insufficient. Help ensure fields meet league standards for weekend play. Qualifications Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Reliable and punctual. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Comfortable lifting and moving field equipment (approximately 40-50 lbs.). Strong organizational and communication skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Schedule Fridays:
Late afternoon/Early evening setup (completed by 7:00 PM)
Saturdays:
Early morning setup (completed by 8:00 AM) Afternoon breakdown following the conclusion of games (12:30PM) Weekly outreach and communication with Volunteers (Wednesdays - Saturdays) Estimated Hours 3-6 hours per week , depending on field setup needs and volunteer availability.
Compensation Hourly Rate:
$25-30 This position plays an important role in ensuring Sonoma Valley United provides a safe, organized, and positive game-day experience for all players, families, and officials.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 3.0 - 6.0 per week
