Vacancy Announcement:
Resource Conservation Technician The Washington County Conservation District is looking for candidates to fill a full-time position as a Resource Conservation Technician. The position requires both office and field work.
Education requirements:
Associate degree with 2 years' similar job experience.
Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in natural sciences, environmental resources management, environmental science or a closely related field. One to two years of similar job experience preferred.
Job Duties:
The technician is responsible for providing technical assistance for the Chapter 102 Erosion and Sedimentation Control Program, the Post Construction Stormwater Management Program, supporting the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Program, and the Chapter 105 Water Obstructions and Encroachment Program. The position requires fieldwork, including walking over rough and uneven terrain at construction sites The position reviews engineering plans under permit requirements. Requires administrative work for permitting department and appropriate organization of current program reviews. Preferred skills include project management, ability to read engineering plans, attention to detail, organizational skills, task management, and problem-solving skills. The position requires use of a personal vehicle during work hours, reimbursed at the state mileage rate. Job acceptance is contingent on the passing of background checks: Child abuse clearance (Act 151), State Police background check, and Federal FBI fingerprinting. Some overtime may be required and is compensated with compensatory time.
Salary:
$45,000-$55,000, commensurate with education and experience, with full benefits package. How to
