Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated Livestock Farm Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will responsible for the daily care of the pigs and sheep including feeding, cleaning, and moving animals on the farm. You may also be involved in the transportation of livestock and assist in the maintenance of the buildings on the farm. Your energetic approach will help ensure the health and well-being of animals while maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive farm environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, apply hands-on skills, and contribute to sustainable farming practices. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive animal care, including feeding, cleaning, and health monitoring to promote livestock well-being. Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, skid loaders, and other agricultural equipment with precision and safety. Perform routine repairs and maintenance using power tools, hand tools, and mechanical knowledge to ensure optimal operation. Manage livestock handling tasks safely and efficiently, including moving animals, assisting with breeding or veterinary procedures, and maintaining proper record-keeping. Adhere strictly to safety standards in production environments while managing heavy equipment operation and animal handling activities. Requirements Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation. Experience in farm work or agriculture with a strong background in animal husbandry is preferred. Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, tractors (including agricultural tractors), and other farm equipment safely is preferred. Mechanical aptitude in maintenance of farm machinery, and basic troubleshooting is a plus but not required. Knowledge of animal handling is preferred. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail. Strong physical stamina for manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and long hours on your feet.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
