Job Description

Cooper Farms is a family-owned farm and food company based in Northwest Ohio for over 85 years. Our Fort Recovery Feed & Animal Division in Mercer and Darke counties, in Ohio, produces and delivers feed while providing support to our contract farmers raising animals for production. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a Swine Service Representative to join our team in Fort Recovery. The primary goal of this position is to work closely with our production manager, other servicing managers and growers in monitoring the health of swine.

SHIFT HOURS

Monday through Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

STARTING RATE

Commensurate with experience

ADDITIONAL PAY

Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)

Job Functions:

Coordinate all aspects of swine health, working with growers to manage each herd. This includes, but not limited to: Ensure good health of swineSolve grower management problemsSolve swine disease problems that ariseMark individual top hogs for marketIdentify, project and schedule hog loads for marketMaintain target sale weights and weight rangesFollow through on problem herdsPractice good sanitation standardsCommunicate effectively with growers and producersCommunicate effectively with loading crews and trucking companiesKeeps records, fills out receipts, and visits farms weeklyTeach new growers proper husbandry techniques Make suggestions to make the Swine Division more efficient.
