Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Quality Control Inspector to join our warehouse operations team. In this role, you will help ensure that all fresh, frozen, and processed meat and seafood products meet company quality standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in meat quality evaluation, warehouse operations, food safety programs, and inventory control. This position works closely with Meat Procurement, Meat Merchandising, warehouse personnel, suppliers, and regulatory inspectors to maintain product integrity and compliance with CGMP and HACCP standards. Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties Inspect incoming fresh meat and seafood shipments for quality, freshness, weights, dates, and specification compliance. Perform routine quality control inspections on fresh beef, pork, seafood, and other protein products. Conduct daily product date checks and monitor proper stock rotation. Inspect returned merchandise from member stores and determine proper disposition. Maintain and implement quality control procedures covering all fresh, frozen, and processed meat and seafood handled in the warehouse. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, company standards, CGMP requirements, and HACCP protocols. Accurately document inspection findings and quality records. Additional Responsibilities Assist Meat Merchandising with maintaining inventory accuracy, product quality standards, and date management. Support vendors with weekly date audits and disposition of short-dated products. Assist buyers in maintaining proper warehouse rotation and product slotting. Serve as a liaison between Meat Merchandising and warehouse operations. Organize and maintain accurate and up-to-date quality control records. Keep HACCP documentation accurate, complete, and audit-ready. Collaborate with internal departments to identify opportunities for quality improvement. QualificationsKnowledge & Skills Knowledge of fresh, frozen, and processed meat products and seafood. Understanding of warehouse operations and inventory practices. Familiarity with food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and quality control procedures. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to make sound judgments regarding product quality and acceptability. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a team-oriented approach. Preferred Experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in a retail meat department, meat processing facility, food distribution center, or warehouse environment. Experience evaluating meat quality and handling food safety documentation preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, and climbing stairs. Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer warehouse environments. Must be able to lift and move products weighing up to 80 pounds .
