Full Job Description Job Summary:

The Arbor Manager is responsible for overseeing all arbor operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to OSM's quality standards. This position is responsible for managing arbor crews, maintaining equipment, developing and training employees, and communicating with clients. This role is vital to ensuring projects are completed profitably while providing exceptional and timely customer service.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Operations Management Plan, schedule, and supervise all arbor work. Coordinate daily crew assignments and job priorities. Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Monitor productivity and labor hours to maximize profitability. Conduct job site inspections to verify quality standards are met. Ensure all work complies with

standards and company policies. Crew Leadership Supervise arbor crews and crew leaders. Train employees on proper pruning techniques, removals, safety procedures, and equipment operation. Conduct daily safety meetings (tailgate meetings). Hold employees accountable for attendance, performance, and professionalism. Complete employee evaluations and provide coaching when needed. Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Safety Enforce all OSHA and company safety policies. Ensure proper use of PPE at all times. Inspect climbing gear, ropes, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and other equipment. Investigate accidents and complete incident reports. Maintain a safe working environment for employees and the public. Customer Service Meet with clients as needed regarding arbor services. Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally. Perform final walkthroughs on completed projects when necessary. Maintain positive relationships with property managers, HOAs, municipalities, and commercial clients. Estimating & Sales Support Assist with arbor estimates and site evaluations. Identify additional work opportunities while on-site. Communicate enhancement opportunities to the sales team. Help grow the arbor division through excellent service and customer relationships. Equipment & Fleet Management Ensure trucks, chippers, stump grinders, chainsaws, aerial lifts, and other equipment are properly maintained. Complete daily equipment inspections. Report repairs immediately. Maintain clean, organized, and professional-looking vehicles and equipment. Monitor equipment utilization and replacement needs. Scheduling & Planning Schedule crews based on workload and priorities. Coordinate with branch management regarding manpower needs. Ensure materials and equipment are available before each project. Monitor weather and adjust schedules accordingly. Administrative Responsibilities Complete daily production reports. Review employee timecards for accuracy. Maintain inventory of arbor supplies and equipment. Track job costs and production. Submit completed work orders and required documentation on time. Financial Accountability Manage labor hours efficiently. Minimize equipment downtime. Reduce callbacks through quality workmanship. Control operating expenses. Assist in achieving the division's revenue and profit goals. Required Skills/Abilities:

Valid Driver's License (Required): The role may involve occasional travel to client sites, or events, requiring a valid driver's license. Will have to drive and operate company vehicles. Work well within a diverse and inclusive workplace, demonstrating flexibility and strong interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education and Experience:

Minimum 5 years of professional tree care experience, including removal, pruning and rigging. High School Diploma or GED. Proven leadership and management of arbor maintenance teams. Strong knowledge of industry best practices and safety standards. Experience in team building. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple jobs components efficiently. Extensive experience operating arbor chippers and stump grinders.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work outdoors for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials, tools, and equipment up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity for handling landscaping tools and equipment. Ability to work in outdoor environments with exposure to heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions. Clear vision and hearing to safely operate equipment, inspect work, and communicate with team members. Ability to climb various types of trees efficiently and safely.

Preferred Qualifications:

ISA Certified Arborist credential is a plus. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
