Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Groundskeeper performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled grounds maintenance duties to ensure that Marietta College's campus remains safe, attractive, and functional year-round. This position supports campus operations through landscape maintenance, recycling and waste management, event support, snow and ice removal, and the operation of grounds equipment. Essential Functions of the

Position:

Prepare and execute plans for refuse compaction and removal, and recycling. Mowing, watering, weeding, trimming, seeding, fertilization and other grounds duties. Assist with training and supervise student employees assisting with recycling. Assist with campus events by preparing outdoor spaces and supporting event set up and breakdown as needed. Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, trimmers, blowers, snow removal equipment and other grounds maintenance equipment. Assist in snow removal. Work outside in all types of weather.

Requirements:

Required Experience & Education:

Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, facilities, or outdoor maintenance required. Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.

Additional Information:

Physical requirements: Must be able to frequently walk, stand, bend, kneel, climb, push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds.. Ability to withstand all types of weather (i.e. hot, cold, snow, ice, rain, etc).
