Description About Out on a Limb Tree Co. Out on a Limb Tree Co. is a growing, veteran-owned tree service based in the Poconos, PA. We provide tree removal, trimming, and related arborist services to residential customers throughout the area. We're fully insured and licensed (PA Home Improvement Contractor #

), and as demand for our services grows, we're looking to add a reliable ground crew member to the team.
Position:
Tree Service Ground Crew / Groundsman This is a hands-on, physically active role supporting our climber on residential tree jobs. You'll be the backbone of the crew on the ground — running equipment, managing debris, and keeping the job site safe and efficient from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
Operate the wood chipper safely and efficiently
Drag, haul, and load cut limbs, brush, and wood debris
Assist with rigging setups and serve as a ground spotter while the climber is working in the tree
Help maintain a safe work zone, watching for hazards and communicating clearly with the crew
Perform thorough site cleanup so every job finishes looking sharp
Assist with loading/unloading equipment and maintaining tools
Requirements:
Comfortable and safety-conscious around a running chipper
Able to perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions, including lifting, hauling, and standing for extended periods
Reliable and punctual — shows up on time, ready to work
Willingness to take direction and work closely as part of a small crew
Reliable transportation to job sites
Chainsaw experience or prior tree service/landscaping work a plus, but not required — willing to train the right person
Schedule & Pay:
Part-time, flexible/as-needed to start, based on job bookings, with potential for more hours as the business grows
Pay:
$16-23/hour, based on experience
W-2 position, paid hourly
