Grounds Supervisor Position Summary St. David's Episcopal Church is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Groundskeeper & Graveyard Support team member to help maintain our historic 40-acre campus and cemetery. This full-time position plays an important role in ensuring that our church grounds, cemetery, and outdoor spaces remain safe, beautiful, and welcoming for parishioners, school families, visitors, and the surrounding community. The successful candidate will work closely with the Property Manager and Grounds Supervisor on landscape maintenance, cemetery operations, seasonal projects, and general property upkeep. Schedule Full-time (40 hours per week) Tuesday through Saturday Benefits eligible Seasonal overtime opportunities, including snow removal, special events, and cemetery operations Responsibilities Grounds Maintenance Mow, trim, edge, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas Prune shrubs and small trees Weed, mulch, plant, and maintain flower beds Collect leaves and debris Perform snow and ice removal during winter months Assist with irrigation and seasonal landscape projects Maintain parking lots, sidewalks, roadways, and outdoor gathering spaces Graveyard Support Assist with burial preparations and interments Prepare gravesites and memorial areas Support monument and marker installations Maintain cemetery appearance and grounds Assist visitors with locating gravesites as needed Support cemetery events and memorial services Work with the Property Manager to ensure respectful care of the historic cemetery Equipment & Facilities Safely operate and maintain: Zero-turn and stand-behind mowers Compact and utility tractors String trimmers and edgers Backpack blowers Chainsaws (training/certification as required) Snow removal equipment Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment Report maintenance needs and repair issues promptly Assist with outdoor event setup and breakdown as needed Qualifications The ideal candidate will: Be dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently Have experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, cemetery operations, facilities maintenance, or related fields (preferred) Be comfortable operating commercial landscape equipment (training available) Have strong attention to detail and take pride in maintaining beautiful grounds Be able to prioritize work and adapt to changing daily needs Demonstrate professionalism and respect while interacting with parishioners, families, funeral directors, contractors, and visitors Appreciate working in a historic church and cemetery environment Physical Requirements This position regularly requires: Standing and walking for extended periods Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds Bending, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive physical activity Working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions Safe operation of machinery and power equipment Additional Requirements Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with an acceptable driving record Successful completion of a criminal background check Successful completion of Safe Church Training (provided by St. David's) Ability to comply with all Church policies and the Employee Handbook Compensation & Benefits Starting pay: $22.00 per hour Full-time, benefits-eligible position Paid time off Health and retirement benefits (per Church policy) Opportunities for overtime during seasonal projects and major events Training and professional development provided Work Location In person St. David's Episcopal Church Wayne, Pennsylvania Application Question Are you available to work a regular Tuesday through Saturday schedule?
