Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic groundskeeping team as a Grounds Maintenance Technician, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining pristine outdoor spaces, including lawns, gardens and landscaped areas. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors, utilizing a variety of tools and equipment to create and sustain beautiful, functional landscapes. Your expertise will help ensure safe, healthy, and visually appealing environments that enhance recreational and viewing experiences. Responsibilities Operate grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment, including mowers, chainsaws, power tools, and irrigation systems, ensuring efficient and safe performance. Perform irrigation system installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance to ensure optimal watering schedules for diverse landscapes. Use hand tools and power tools safely for gardening, landscaping, planting, pruning, and soil preparation tasks. Conduct manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of soil bags, turf rolls, or equipment parts while adhering to safety protocols. Manage pesticide application in accordance with safety guidelines to control pests while protecting the environment. Perform routine landscape maintenance including planting flowers or shrubs, trimming hedges, raking debris, and general gardening duties. Maintain equipment through regular cleaning and preventive maintenance to ensure longevity and optimal operation. Assist with land grading or soil preparation for new landscaping projects or turf installation. Operate company vehicles responsibly for transporting tools, materials, or team members between job sites. Requirements Proven experience in irrigation systems installation and repair; knowledge of landscape maintenance is highly desirable. Familiarity with athletic field groundskeeping practices or golf course turf management preferred. Ability to operate grounds maintenance machinery such as mowers, chainsaws, power tools, and irrigation equipment safely. Strong manual handling skills with the physical ability for heavy lifting and prolonged outdoor work in various weather conditions. Knowledge of pesticide management practices following safety regulations to ensure environmentally responsible application. Experience with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime during projects. Valid driver's license with experience operating company vehicles responsibly. Understanding of power tool safety standards and proper use of gardening or landscaping hand tools.
