Job Description

We are currently hiring for the position of Lawn Care Spray Technician at our location in Sioux City, Ia. If you would like to apply for the position, here are the requirements. Primary Purpose The spray technician is responsible for properly mixing and applying herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides to trees, lawns, shrubs, or botanical crops on residential and commercial properties.
Job Duties Chemical Application:
Mix and spray pre-emergent, post-emergent, and selective herbicides using backpack units, power spray rigs, or vehicle tanks.
Weed Identification:
Inspect properties to identify specific weed types, invasive species, and turf damage.
Equipment Care:
Calibrate nozzles and spreaders, perform daily checks on trucks or utility vehicles, and clean gear after use.
Safety & Compliance:
Follow all federal, state, and local environmental rules, read chemical labels, and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
Record Keeping:
Log chemical amounts used, track map locations or GPS data, and report completed
Licensing:
Often requires a state-issued commercial pesticide applicator license or a willingness to test for certification.
Physical Fitness:
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift equipment or supplies weighing 50 pounds or more.
Driver's License:
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
