Our Turf Specialists provide professional lawn care services while serving as the eyes and ears of our company in the field. This position is more than applying fertilizer and weed control. We expect our team members to take ownership of the lawns they service, identify problems, communicate with customers, work safely, and take pride in delivering exceptional results. We do not mow, trim, or provide landscape maintenance. Our focus is specialized turf care through fertilizer and product applications, weed control, pest and disease treatments, and seeding services. If you enjoy working outdoors, operating equipment, helping customers, and seeing the results of your work, this could be a great fit. What You'll Do Apply fertilizer, weed control, pre-emergent, and lawn pest and disease treatments. Perform core aeration, overseeding, and powerseeding to establish and improve turf. Safely operate ride-on and walk-behind powered lawn care equipment , including applicators, aerators, and powerseeders. Inspect lawns for weeds, disease, insects, thin turf, irrigation issues, and other conditions affecting lawn health. Identify lawn problems and recommend appropriate solutions rather than simply completing the scheduled treatment. Complete assigned routes safely, accurately, and efficiently. Properly measure, mix, load, transport, and apply lawn care products according to product labels and company procedures. Maintain company vehicles and equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Communicate professionally with customers, answer questions, and help resolve concerns. Identify opportunities for additional services that would benefit the customer's lawn. Help generate referrals and positive customer reviews through exceptional service. Accurately document treatments, lawn conditions, and customer interactions using our customer portal applications. What We're Looking For Safety-first mentality with good judgment around vehicles, powered equipment, customers' properties, and lawn care products. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Strong work ethic and attention to detail. Takes ownership and follows through rather than simply "spraying and leaving." Comfortable interacting with customers and explaining lawn conditions and recommendations. Willingness to learn about turf, weeds, insects, diseases, and lawn care products. Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in Kansas heat and changing weather conditions. Ability to walk and ride for extended periods, operate powered equipment, push and carry equipment, bend and lift, and safely handle materials weighing approximately 50 pounds. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Previous lawn care, landscaping, agriculture, pest control, equipment operation, or outdoor service experience is helpful but not required . Training & Growth We provide training on Lawn Doctor equipment, turf care, weed identification, lawn treatments, seeding, safety, customer service, and operating procedures. Turf Specialists will be expected to obtain and maintain applicable pesticide applicator certifications required for the position. We are a growing local business and want people who can grow with us. Strong performers may have opportunities to take on additional responsibility in route leadership, customer consultations, sales, training, and operations. What Success Looks Like We want Turf Specialists who work safely, take care of their equipment, notice problems before the customer has to point them out, communicate well, and treat every property as if it were their own.
