Job Description

Southwood Realty is looking for a tree technician to maintain, trim, diagnose, and safely remove trees to keep landscapes healthy and safe at our Southwood properties.
Key Responsibilities:
Pruning and Trimming:
Cut dead, weak or overgrown branches to improve tree shape and safety.
Tree Removal:
Safely cut down and remove hazardous, diseased, or dead trees. Inspect trees for pests, diseases, and structural damage to recommend treatments. Use chainsaws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and any other approved equipment needed. Clear fallen trees and debris after storms.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred Valid driver's license required Must pass background check and drug test Alert, focused, and detail-oriented Ability to stand for long periods and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time Must be willing to perform other duties as required in the Lawn Care Department to include: Perform all tasks of operations including but not limited to mowing, line trimming, blowing, leaf and debris removal, weeding, edging, hedging, raking and mulch installation Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders. Proper use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment. Unloading/loading equipment and materials Wash dirty equipment {including all mower decks} and return to approved storage location. Report damaged or broken equipment to management immediately. Fill trucks, mowers, equipment, and cans with fuel additive & fuel in preparation for the next day (or as necessary) Adherence to the company's employee manual & procedures as required from all employees
