Job Description

Job Summary We are looking for a career-minded individual who loves life, enjoys working outdoors, has good people skills, and who is ready to Support Soil Biology (SSB) as a Lawn & Landscape SSB Spray Technician. In this position, you will use your knowledge of turfgrasses and other plants common to South Texas to inspect and analyze lawns and landscapes, diagnose issues commonly affecting them, recommend courses of action and/or sell services that will address those issues, and perform beneficial lawn and landscape treatments, all under the supervision of Owner/ Operator... Horticultural education/experience and prior experience as a Lawn & Landscape Spray Technician are a definite plus but are not required to be considered for this position. If you bring the right people skills, intelligence, and motivation, we'll provide the training to allow you to develop the necessary job skills. Plus, you'll receive lots of ongoing on-the-job training to enable you to continually improve your job skills so that you can excel on the job. The successful candidate will be a team player who can work independently, a quick learner who is eager to learn; he or she will share our commitment to quality and excellent customer service, will be highly reliable and self-motivated, and will be interested in a long-term employment relationship with our growing company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position involves physical labor and work outdoors, analyzing and treating lawns and landscapes with fertilizers, Organic weed control agents, Lawn Leveling, and other products, and performing other beneficial lawn, landscape, and soil treatments. Lawn & Landscape SSB Spray Technicians will NOT be exposed to Chemicals, we are a S.A.F.E & will always make sure our customers' animals, Family, & Our Environment remain that way! Drive company truck to various customer locations throughout the League City, Friendswood, Clear Lake, and surrounding areas. Operate a variety of powered and non-powered equipment, including hand-held and push spreaders, and powered hose-end tank sprayers. Maintain accurate records of applications made and product used, and complete customer invoice forms with appropriate post-treatment care instructions. Measure lawns and landscapes and accurately price the Company's services using the Company's standard pricing charts, propose beneficial services based on your findings and analyses of properties, and explain to customers and potential customers the benefits of any proposed course of treatment. (Alongside Owner/ Operator) Address questions or concerns customers may have concerning conditions affecting their lawns and landscapes, treatments proposed or performed, and other matters concerning their relationship with the Company.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
A qualified Lawn & Landscape SSB Spray Technician will be intelligent, self-motivated, reliable, able to learn quickly and work independently, have a good eye for detail, and be able to engage well with customers and others. Have a comprehensive knowledge of turfgrasses and weeds common to South Texas; be able to recognize and diagnose issues commonly affecting South Texas turfgrasses and landscapes Recognize and distinguish between damage caused by insects, disease, lack or excess of water, lack or excess of sun/shade, or other causes, based on symptoms exhibited. Have a valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record (must be insurable); be able to drive a company truck and to operate a variety of equipment, including but not limited to tank sprayers, Hose Sprayers, and push spreaders. Ensure proper calibration of equipment Be able to lift 50 lbs independently and regularly, calculate and accomplish accurate product application rates according to label instructions, and accurately and legibly record data concerning each treatment made Communicate professionally and courteously one-on-one with customers Must be fluent in English (both written and verbal).
Educational and Experience/Requirements:
Must have a high school diploma or GED Must pass a Drug Screen Test Must pass a background check Must hold a Texas driver's license with a clean driving record (must be insurable) Prior work experience performing services of the type offered is a plus
Benefits:
Health insurance is not currently offered. Employees may obtain individual health coverage through the open market. Holiday pay is not currently offered. Time-off requests must be submitted in advance and are subject to approval based on scheduling and business needs.
