Full-Time FarWest Landscape & Garden Center is looking for an organized, detail-oriented Landscape Production Associate to join our Landscape team. This is a key support position that connects our Landscape Designers, Production Management, Retail Garden Center, vendors, and installation crews. The primary goal of this position is to make sure the materials needed for our sold landscape projects are accurately identified, sourced, ordered, staged, and ready when our crews need them. A major part of this position involves plant material coordination . You will work closely with our Retail Garden Center buyers to order plants for upcoming landscape projects while also identifying and pulling appropriate plant material from FarWest's existing inventory. You'll also support our installation crews throughout the construction process by coordinating additional material needs and making sure materials are accurately checked out to each project for job costing and customer billing. What You'll Do Review upcoming sold landscape projects and identify plant and material needs. Work closely with our Retail Garden Center buyers to source and order plant material. Review existing FarWest plant inventory and identify material available for upcoming projects. Pull, tag, organize, and stage on-hand plant material for landscape crews. Verify plant varieties, sizes, quantities, and quality against project requirements. Communicate plant shortages, substitutions, availability, and lead times to our Sales and Production teams. Assist Designers and Production Management with product research, pricing, specifications, and material availability. Communicate with vendors regarding orders, pricing, availability, pickups, and deliveries. Receive and verify incoming plant and landscape material orders. Prepare and stage materials for upcoming installations. Coordinate with Project Supervisors and Foremen regarding material needs during active projects. Help crews obtain additional materials while projects are underway. Accurately check plant and landscape materials out to individual projects. Track materials used to support accurate job costing and final customer billing. Coordinate unused materials, returns, and vendor credits. Maintain organized plant and material staging areas. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is organized, dependable, proactive, and highly detail-oriented . Landscape, horticulture, nursery, purchasing, inventory, or construction experience is preferred. Strong plant knowledge is especially valuable for this position.
The ideal candidate:
Has knowledge of landscape plants or a strong desire to learn. Can accurately identify and work with plant varieties, sizes, and quantities. Is comfortable using computers and maintaining accurate records. Can manage several projects and priorities at the same time. Communicates effectively with Designers, managers, buyers, vendors, Foremen, and crews. Takes initiative and looks ahead to what will be needed next. Is comfortable working both indoors and outdoors. Is willing to perform hands-on work involving plants and landscape materials. Understands the importance of accuracy and accountability when assigning materials to projects. Has a valid driver's license. You'll play an important role in keeping our crews productive, improving coordination between our Landscape and Retail teams, and ensuring the true material costs of our projects are captured. How would you describe your knowledge of landscape plants and your ability to identify common trees, shrubs, perennials, and ornamental grasses? Do you have experience with purchasing, ordering, inventory management, material tracking, or coordinating materials for projects? This position includes both computer/administrative work and hands-on outdoor work, including pulling, staging, loading, and organizing plant and landscape materials. Are you comfortable performing both aspects of the position? This position requires a high level of accuracy when assigning materials to individual projects for job costing and customer billing.
