Temporary Simply Education are currently working with a primary school in Rochester who are looking for an experienced Nursery Teacher or suitably qualified Early Years Practitioner/Nursery Nurse to lead their nursery provision on a temporary maternity cover basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong Early Years experience who is confident taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of a nursery provision. The Role The successful candidate will: Lead the day-to-day running of the nursery provision Provide a safe, engaging and nurturing environment for young children Plan and deliver appropriate Early Years activities and experiences Complete observations, assessment and planning Work closely with the Reception team and wider EYFS staff Support the development and progress of children within the setting Take responsibility for the organisation and smooth running of the provision Children attend from 8.30am-11.30am , with the remaining 30 minutes each day allocated to planning, assessment, preparation and other responsibilities associated with leading the provision. The nursery currently has a small cohort, so the school is looking for someone who will be confident working independently and taking ownership of the provision. The Ideal Candidate We are keen to hear from candidates who have: QTS with Early Years experience or a relevant Nursery Nurse/Early Years qualification Previous experience working within a nursery or EYFS setting Confidence leading a provision and working independently A good understanding of the EYFS framework Strong communication and organisational skills A warm, nurturing and child-centred approach The ability to work effectively as part of an EYFS team This would suit a qualified teacher looking for a part-time temporary role, or an experienced Nursery Nurse/Early Years Practitioner who is ready to take on responsibility for leading a small nursery provision.
