Parks Monitor, Part-Time 19 hrs/week

Job Description

First review of applications on August 14, 2026 Must be able to work until 11:00 pm, days and start times can be negotiated Under close supervision, monitors and maintains a safe environment for park patrons. Monitors patron activities in the park for misuse of Town property, safety issues or vandalism. Picks up trash throughout park grounds, dugouts, playgrounds and restrooms and empties trash cans. Stocks and cleans park restrooms. Checks and stocks dog waste dispensers. Settles minor disputes between park patrons. Unlocks/Locks and secures restrooms, gates, storage areas, containers and offices at the beginning and end of the day.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written communication. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety guidelines. Knowledge of security practices and techniques. Knowledge of Town and Department policies and procedures. Skill in monitoring park activity and handling disputes. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. A High School diploma or GED. One (1) year experience working in a security or custodial setting. Must possess a valid Class D Arizona driver license upon the first day of employment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Work is performed in an outdoor environment. Must be able to lift and move up to fifty (50) pounds. Regular, daily attendance is an essential function for this position.
