In this important role, you will be responsible for spreading, leveling, and finishing asphalt surfaces to ensure smooth, high-quality paving results. This position works closely with the paving machine operators and equipment operators to complete projects efficiently while maintaining the high standards our company is known for. Responsibilities Spread, level, and smooth asphalt using rakes, lutes, and hand tools to achieve proper grade and finish. Work alongside the paving crew to ensure asphalt is placed and finished correctly. Assist with preparation of paving areas including grading, cleaning, and site setup. Communicate with equipment operators and crew members to maintain proper asphalt flow and mat consistency. Maintain a clean and safe job site while following company and jobsite safety procedures. Assist with general paving crew duties as needed to keep projects moving efficiently. Perform routine checks on tools and equipment and report any issues. Requirements Previous experience working on an asphalt paving crew preferred. Experience using rakes, lutes, and other paving hand tools. Familiarity with construction sites and heavy equipment operations is a plus. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team. Reliable transportation to and from job sites. Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
