In this vital role, you will operate paving equipment to lay asphalt for roadways, parking lots, and other large-scale projects. Your expertise in construction machinery, safety regulations, and paving techniques will ensure high-quality results that meet project specifications and industry standards. Duties Operate asphalt pavers and paving equipment with precision to ensure smooth, level surfaces according to project plans and specifications Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on paving machinery, including screeds, conveyors, and augers, to maintain optimal performance Coordinate with crew members to prepare the site, including setting up forms, rebar installation, and ensuring proper alignment for paving operations Manage the placement of bituminous materials, ensuring correct temperature and consistency for quality paving results Follow safety protocols and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations at all times to maintain a safe construction environment Assist with the operation of heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, dump trucks, and concrete mixers as needed on site Perform basic math calculations for measurements, material quantities, and grade adjustments during paving operations Support concrete pouring, finishing, pumping, and forming activities when required for related infrastructure elements Qualifications Proven experience operating paving equipment such as screeds and asphalt pavers in a construction or civil infrastructure setting Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting Familiarity with bituminous materials, concrete work, concrete finishing, and concrete pumping processes Ability to operate heavy equipment including loaders, excavators, dump trucks, and concrete mixers safely and efficiently Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA standards and DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines for construction sites Working experience on construction projects involving rebar installation, concrete forming, paving, and site preparation Valid driver's license Excellent communication skills combined with a proactive approach to safety protocol adherence Physical ability to perform demanding tasks such as lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions Join our team if you're passionate about building durable infrastructure while maintaining a safe work environment!
