Homestead Builders Group

Lead Carpenter

Job Description

Lead Carpenter | High-End Residential Construction Homestead Builders Group Full-Time | $35-$48/hour DOE Build exceptional homes. Lead great people. Chase fresh tracks. Homestead Builders Group is looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter who takes pride in doing things the right way—the details people see and the ones they never will. We build complex, high-end residential remodels and custom homes where craftsmanship matters, but craftsmanship alone isn't enough. Our clients trust us to bring organization, communication, foresight, and professionalism to complicated projects. We're looking for someone who wants to help bring that standard to life in the field. This is a hands-on leadership role . You'll spend your days building alongside the team, mentoring developing carpenters, keeping the jobsite running at a high level, and working closely with our Project Managers to solve problems before they become problems. What You'll Do Perform high-quality rough and finish carpentry across all phases of residential construction Read plans, think ahead, and solve field conditions with practical solutions Lead and mentor junior carpenters while working alongside them Help coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, inspections, materials, and daily jobsite activities Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional jobsite Communicate field conditions, questions, and potential problems early Assist the Project Manager with daily logs, photos, inspections, and project documentation Protect our clients' homes and represent Homestead professionally with clients, architects, designers, trades, and project partners You'll Probably Fit In Here If You... Build trust before anything. You communicate clearly, do what you say you're going to do, and understand that how we build relationships matters just as much as what we build. Sweat the details. You believe organization is part of craftsmanship. You notice the little things and don't need someone looking over your shoulder to do them correctly. Think average isn't interesting. You're curious, coachable, and always looking for a better way. You take ownership when something doesn't go right and learn from it. Chase fresh tracks. You work hard and take your craft seriously—but you also believe a great career should support a great life outside of work. What We're Looking For 5+ years of residential carpentry or construction experience Strong rough and finish carpentry skills Experience leading or mentoring carpenters or small field crews Ability to confidently read architectural and structural plans Strong understanding of residential construction methods and sequencing High-end custom home, major remodel, or complex addition experience strongly preferred Clear, professional communication and a team-first attitude Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Comfortable using—or willing to learn—construction management software and digital daily logs What Success Looks Like Here You build excellent work. Your jobsites are clean and organized. The carpenters around you get better because you're there. You anticipate problems instead of waiting for them to happen. Project Managers can rely on the information you provide. Clients and project partners enjoy working with you. Most importantly, you take ownership of the details because you understand that exceptional homes are the result of hundreds of small things being done correctly. About Homestead Builders Group We're a high-end residential builder specializing in complex remodels, additions, and custom homes. We believe exceptional construction is as much about the experience as the finished product.
Our standard is simple:
Build Trust Before Anything. Sweat the Details. Average Isn't Interesting. Chase Fresh Tracks. Because success should feel like fresh paint, fresh tracks, and time well spent doing what you love with people who love it too. If you're an experienced carpenter looking for a place where craftsmanship, leadership, and quality of life all matter, we'd like to meet you.
