The Role We're looking for a hands-on Foreman / Assistant Site Supervisor who understands how a building comes together, from layout through finish. You'll work alongside our Site Supervisor to lead field crews, coordinate trades, and keep projects moving with zero rework. This is a leadership role for a carpenter who reads plans fluently, understands the building envelope, and catches problems before they're built in. Responsibilities Lead and direct framing and finish carpentry crews on complex custom residential projects Perform and verify layout for multi-trade integrations, ensuring framing accommodates mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural steel, architectural metals, glazing, and finish requirements Inspect framing for accuracy and code compliance; identify errors and either correct them directly or efficiently direct carpenters to make corrections Oversee door and window installation, including rough opening verification, proper sequencing with flashing and weather barriers, and installation per manufacturer specifications Plan tile layouts in coordination with plumbing and electrical rough-in so fixtures, valves, outlets, and niches land precisely on intended grout joints Ensure flashing and waterproofing details are installed correctly and in proper sequence, including window and door flashing, wet-area waterproofing, deck and balcony transitions, and building envelope integration Coordinate roof penetrations and venting, ensuring proper locations, flashing, and compliance with code and manufacturer requirements Coordinate and sequence all trades on site so every scope works together toward a single, finished outcome without rework Review shop drawings and submittals against the plans; mark up discrepancies and coordination issues Generate clear, well-documented RFIs to resolve conflicts and gaps in the design documents Anticipate conflicts between trades before they reach the field and resolve them in advance Oversee finish carpentry and trim installation to a high standard of quality Maintain jobsite safety, cleanliness, and organization Communicate daily with the Site Supervisor and project management on progress, issues, and upcoming needs Required Qualifications Extensive experience in framing and finish carpentry, including complex and custom work Deep knowledge of layout for projects with significant multi-trade integration Proven ability to identify incorrect framing and resolve it quickly and correctly Hands-on experience with door and window installation, including flashing integration and weather-resistive barrier sequencing Ability to lay out tile so plumbing and electrical fixtures align with specific grout joints, and to coordinate rough-in locations with those trades in advance Thorough understanding of flashing and waterproofing details across the building envelope and wet areas Working knowledge of roof penetrations, flashing, and attic and roof venting requirements Strong understanding of how all trades interact, with a track record of coordinating them without rework Excellent plan reading skills across architectural, structural, and MEP drawings Experience reviewing and marking up shop drawings and submittals Ability to write clear, actionable RFIs Leadership experience directing carpentry crews Strong communication skills with crews, subcontractors, and management Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications Experience in high-end custom residential construction Familiarity with architectural metals, structural steel, and their integration with framing and finishes Working knowledge of California building codes OSHA 10 or 30 certification Comfort with digital plan sets and markup tools (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.)

Pay:

$100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
