Full-time, hourly (non-exempt, overtime eligible) Pay range: $35.00-$50.00 per hour, depending on experience and skill level Position Summary The Finish Carpenter brings our homes to completion. Working under the direction of the Site Superintendent, this role installs doors, windows, trim, cabinetry, stairs, and custom millwork to exacting standards — reading the drawings, solving problems in the field, and taking pride in detail work that clients see every day. This role is a path to Lead Carpenter and Foreman, with increasing responsibility for layout, crew direction, and quality on the jobsite as you grow. What You'll Do Finish carpentry & installation Install doors, windows, trim, cabinetry, stairs, moldings, and other millwork to exacting standards. Perform fine detail work, including scribing, fitting, and on-site adjustments. Support layout, assembly, and installation of custom woodwork and casework, including pieces from our in-house cabinet shop. Exterior finish Install siding and exterior window and door trim. Plans & specifications Read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications, and build to them accurately. Safety & site standards Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations, using proper PPE. Attend bi-weekly safety meetings at our Napa office. Keep jobsites clean, organized, and ready for client or inspector visits. Team communication Work collaboratively with project teams, clients, and other trades. Take direction from the Site Superintendent. Promptly communicate material needs, potential schedule impacts, and design or field issues to the Superintendent or Project Manager. Represent Slarve Construction with professionalism on and off the jobsite. What You Bring At least five years of professional experience in finish carpentry, cabinetry, millwork installation, or a closely related trade. Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and finish carpentry techniques. Safe, proficient use of carpentry hand and power tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and detailed construction plans. Demonstrated craftsmanship, attention to detail, and practical problem-solving. Clear communication and a dependable, team-first approach. Physical stamina for standing, bending, and lifting up to 80 lbs throughout the workday. Knowledge of ladder safety and the ability to work safely from ladders, scaffolding, and at heights. Your own customary finish carpentry hand tools. Slarve provides required power tools, specialty equipment, and PPE. Valid California driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Regular driving between jobsites and supplier locations is an essential function of this position. Nice to Have Experience in high-end residential, custom home, or fine finish construction. Experience installing cabinetry and casework from a custom cabinet or millwork shop. Experience with exterior siding and trim. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
