JOB SUMMARY

True North Construction, Inc. is a premier custom home builder that has been constructing exceptional custom homes in Marin County and San Francisco for 30 years. We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Journeyman / Lead Carpenter for a stable, long-term position. This role requires comprehensive craftsmanship across all stages of residential construction—from structural framing through fine architectural finish work—with a strong emphasis on custom woodworking, precision door/window installation, and high-end detailing. You will work closely with project leadership to bring sophisticated residential designs to life.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Comprehensive Carpentry:

Perform high-quality framing, structural work, precision window and door installation, interior/exterior trim work, cabinetry, and custom architectural feature assembly.

Plan & Spec Execution:

Read and interpret architectural blueprints and technical drawings accurately.

On-Site Standards:

Operate tools safely, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and uphold professional standards on every job site.

Field Coordination:

Troubleshoot field coordination issues on-site proactively alongside project management.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

5+ years of professional carpentry experience (custom residential ground-up builds and remodels strongly preferred).

Skills & Expertise:

High proficiency in custom woodworking, finish carpentry, detail work, and general framing.

Tools:

Must possess a complete set of standard hand tools and core power tools (specialized/large tools provided by the company).

Attributes:

Strong work ethic, self-starter, dependable, neat, organized, and excellent communication skills.

Schedule & Transportation:

Available full-time (40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM). Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites across Marin and San Francisco.

Pay:

$60.00 - $70.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
