Maybe you're tired of carrying all of it. Maybe you're thinking about shutting down your company or leaving self-employment, but you still enjoy the work itself. We're a growing residential remodeling company in Boulder looking for an experienced Lead Remodeler / Carpenter who can take ownership of kitchen and bathroom projects in the field while being supported by an established company behind them. You bring the experience, judgment, leadership, and craftsmanship. We provide the projects, clients, estimating, administrative support, purchasing coordination, systems, and steady paycheck. You can get back to building. Craftsmanship and Professionalism Matter Here This is not a handyman position . We're not looking for someone whose standard is to make something work, cover it up, and move on. We're looking for an experienced professional remodeler who understands the difference between making something work and building it correctly.

That means:

Work is plumb, level, square, straight, and properly aligned Trim joints, reveals, transitions, and finishes are clean and intentional Cabinets and doors are installed correctly, not simply made to fit Substrates and preparation are handled properly before finishes are installed Problems are corrected at the source rather than hidden Plans, manufacturer specifications, and accepted building practices are followed The client's home is protected and treated with respect Jobsites stay clean, organized, and professional Homeowners, coworkers, and subcontractors are treated professionally You think ahead instead of constantly reacting to problems We understand that remodeling requires creativity and problem-solving. Existing homes are rarely perfect. But there is a major difference between experienced problem-solving and simply "making it work." We're looking for someone who cares about the things a homeowner may never see just as much as the things they will. What's behind the wall matters. Waterproofing matters. Fastening matters. Layout matters. Cleanliness matters. Details matter. If your standard is "good enough," "nobody will see it," or "that's how I've always done it," this will not be a good fit. What This Position Looks Like This is a hands-on leadership position for someone capable of leading kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects from demolition through final punch. You'll still make decisions, solve problems, coordinate trades, communicate with homeowners, and take responsibility for the project. But you won't have to spend your evenings finding the next job, writing proposals, chasing deposits, doing bookkeeping, or managing the entire business. Our office supports the field with: Lead generation and sales Estimating and proposals Scheduling support Purchasing and material coordination Subcontractor coordination Client communication Documentation Billing and collections Administrative work Your primary responsibility is making sure the project gets built correctly, efficiently, professionally, and to a high standard. We Are a Systems-Driven Company We're not looking for someone who wants to shut down their company but continue operating like an independent contractor inside ours. We work as a team. We use project management software, schedules, checklists, forms, documentation, and quality-control procedures to keep projects organized and prevent problems. We use phones and tablets for project management, photos, schedules, plans, forms, checklists, and communication. We'll teach you our software and procedures. You don't need to know our systems already, but using them consistently is part of the job. What You'll Do Lead kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects from start to finish Perform high-quality carpentry and remodeling work Plan upcoming work and keep projects moving Coordinate subcontractors and team members Communicate professionally with homeowners Identify issues before they become larger problems Maintain clean, protected, organized jobsites Review plans, layouts, scopes, and specifications Document project progress and issues Complete required checklists and quality-control documentation Take responsibility for workmanship and project organization Work closely with our office and management team What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who understands the entire remodeling process, not someone who has only performed one phase of the job. You may be a great fit if you've: Owned or operated a remodeling or construction company Worked independently as a remodeling contractor Served as a lead carpenter, foreman, superintendent, or project lead Managed kitchen and bathroom projects from demolition through completion Coordinated multiple trades and subcontractors Been responsible for homeowners, schedules, materials, and jobsite decisions Experience should include many of the following: Kitchen remodeling Bathroom remodeling Finish carpentry Cabinet installation Trim and doors Framing Drywall repair Reading plans and layouts Understanding proper trade sequencing Coordinating plumbing, electrical, HVAC, tile, and flooring trades Troubleshooting existing-home conditions Planning work ahead instead of reacting to problems Compensation & Advancement Starting pay is $45 per hour. We're not hiring someone at $50+ per hour based solely on a résumé, years in business, or an interview. We want to see how you actually operate on our projects. After approximately 90 days, we'll evaluate: Quality of workmanship Ability to successfully lead a project Reliability and accountability Organization and planning Communication Jobsite cleanliness and protection Leadership Ability to work effectively with the team Consistent use of our systems and processes Willingness to learn and adapt Someone who proves they can successfully lead projects, produce high-quality work, and operate as part of our team can earn more than $50 per hour. We want highly experienced people to be well compensated. Higher compensation comes with demonstrated performance, responsibility, and leadership.
