Based in East Moline, the company has built a strong reputation for quality and reliability since its founding in 1960. Today, EMG continues to experience significant growth, driven by strategic partnerships with top construction firms and industry suppliers that support and accelerate its ongoing success. This position will report up through Moline Glass, also based in East Moline, IL.
Objective :
We are looking to add enthusiastic and hard-working team members to our team! This position will work in a fabrication facility as part of our door department. Thorough training will be provided - a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are the top required assets.
Responsibilities :
  • Industrial manufacturing.
  • Must be mechanically inclined! Fabrication involves miters, routing, and building commercial aluminum doors.
  • Apply commercial door hardware to aluminum entrances utilizing a variety of hand and power tools
  • Willingness and ability to learn complicated and intricate fabrication techniques; these may vary from cutting miters to making routes out of material requiring precise dimensions and layouts, all the way down to caulk and rubber gasket installation
  • Maintain a clean workspace and an organized storage area
  • Work as a team with other fabricators/assemblers and other departments to successfully complete each job; and work to ensure the safety of everyone
  • Ability to read and understand blueprint-like drawings that include dimensions
  • Ability to read and understand assembly instructions
  • Ability to utilize and understand a tape measure
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills/Requirements:
  • Team player
  • Timely/punctual
  • Eagerness to follow instructions from management and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Positive attitude; ambitious; self-starter
  • Attention to detail within fabrication and assembly
Experience/Certifications:
  • Experience in carpentry or fabrication/manufacturing is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license
Job Type:
Full-time (40 hours/week); Occasional overtime opportunities; M-F day shift; No travel required
Working Conditions:
  • Temperature controlled fabrication facility, possible exposure to loud noises and movement of equipment/forklifts
  • Required to lift heavy material (at least 50 pounds)
