As Anchorpoint continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter and Site Superintendent who can produce high-quality carpentry, lead daily jobsite activity, coordinate trades, protect the client experience, and uphold Anchorpoint's standards in the field. This is a hands-on field leadership position that reports directly to the Owner and CEO. Position Overview The Lead Carpenter and Site Superintendent is responsible for high-quality carpentry, daily jobsite coordination, and professional field execution across Anchorpoint's active projects. This person will work with the tools while also planning the work, directing helpers or small crews, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring quality, and maintaining clean, organized, and professional jobsites. The role is expected to remain approximately 60%-80% hands-on carpentry and 20%-40% site leadership, depending on the project. This is not a desk-only superintendent position. The right person will be able to move confidently between rough and finish carpentry, jobsite planning, subcontractor coordination, client interaction, quality control, and project documentation. Because Anchorpoint performs cost-plus work, accurate field documentation is essential. Labor time, progress photos, receipts, material usage, field conditions, subcontractor activity, and project changes must be documented accurately and promptly in JobTread. We are looking for someone who takes pride not only in the finished work, but also in how the project is planned, communicated, documented, and experienced by the client. Key Responsibilities Hands-On Carpentry and Production Perform rough and finish carpentry, including layout, framing, blocking, doors, windows, exterior and interior trim, cabinetry, hardware, repairs, and punch-list work Complete renovation work carefully in existing and occupied homes Protect existing finishes, furnishings, landscaping, and completed work throughout construction Read and interpret plans, specifications, scopes, details, and manufacturer requirements Verify measurements and field conditions before beginning or covering work Identify conflicts, missing information, or constructability concerns before they result in costly rework Plan materials and tools in advance to reduce waste, downtime, and unnecessary return trips Maintain Anchorpoint's craftsmanship and quality standards from initial layout through final closeout Site Leadership and Daily Coordination Translate project plans, schedules, scopes, and priorities into practical daily and weekly field plans Organize jobsites, sequence work, confirm readiness, and keep work moving without compromising safety or quality Lead and support carpenters, helpers, or small field crews Assign work, communicate expectations, provide instruction, and verify completed work Coordinate site access, deliveries, inspections, temporary protection, cleanup, and end-of-day security Communicate manpower, material, schedule, and decision needs early enough for the project team to respond Participate in project planning, coordination meetings, punch-list completion, and closeout Maintain safe, clean, secure, and professionally managed jobsites Subcontractor and Material Coordination Confirm subcontractors have current plans, approved scopes, site access, and the information required to begin work Coordinate subcontractor activity on-site and identify conflicts, incomplete work, or quality concerns promptly Verify that subcontractor work follows approved plans, scopes, and Anchorpoint standards Receive and verify material deliveries Report shortages, damage, incorrect materials, or delivery concerns immediately Protect and organize materials stored on-site Develop field material lists and communicate upcoming needs with sufficient lead time Maintain professional and accountable relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, designers, and project partners Quality, Safety, and Client Experience Inspect work as it progresses and address deficiencies before they are concealed or carried into the next phase Maintain clean and organized jobsites, particularly in occupied homes and client-facing areas Follow and reinforce company safety standards, PPE requirements, manufacturer instructions, and applicable jobsite requirements Communicate respectfully and professionally with clients Route scope, pricing, schedule, and change decisions through the appropriate company process Protect the client's property and minimize unnecessary disruption during construction Represent Anchorpoint through professional conduct, appearance, communication, craftsmanship, and care JobTread and Field Documentation Record labor time accurately each day using the correct project, phase, work category, or cost code Complete daily logs documenting completed work, crew activity, subcontractor activity, deliveries, delays, decisions, and upcoming needs Upload clear and useful progress photos, including concealed conditions and milestone work Submit receipts and document material purchases, usage, returns, and credits promptly Document unexpected conditions, field changes, client requests, and potential additional work before proceeding when approval is required Keep assigned tasks, punch-list items, and project information current Help ensure JobTread remains a reliable source of information for clients, project leadership, and company decision-making What Success Looks Like The crew understands the plan and has the materials, tools, and information needed to remain productive Work is completed correctly the first time and consistently reflects Anchorpoint's quality standards Subcontractors are coordinated and field conflicts are identified before they disrupt the project Jobsites remain clean, safe, secure, protected, and prepared for the next scheduled activity Clients experience a respectful, organized, and professionally managed project Labor, receipts, photos, daily logs, material activity, and field changes remain current and support accurate cost-plus billing Concerns are communicated early with practical recommendations for resolving them The employee becomes a trusted field leader who can help develop additional carpenters or helpers as Anchorpoint grows Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a highly capable residential carpenter who takes pride in both the finished product and the way the project is run. You may currently be working as a Lead Carpenter, Working Superintendent, Site Supervisor, Foreman, Construction Manager, or experienced Carpenter who is ready for greater field leadership responsibility. You are likely a strong fit if you: Can move confidently between framing, exterior work, interior finish work, repairs, and final punch Remain productive with the tools while also directing people and coordinating trades Plan ahead and anticipate what the project will need next Take ownership and bring practical solutions instead of simply reporting problems Communicate directly and professionally with clients, coworkers, subcontractors, and suppliers Notice missing details, quality concerns, and potential problems before they become expensive Are organized and able to manage multiple priorities without creating confusion Care about craftsmanship, client trust, accountability, and company reputation Are comfortable using technology and documenting work accurately every day Want to help build a growing company with a strong standard and clear vision Experience and Qualifications Seven or more years of well-rounded residential carpentry experience preferred Renovation and occupied-home experience strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead carpenters, helpers, subcontractors, or small field crews Strong working knowledge of residential framing, building-envelope details, doors, windows, interior finishes, and construction sequencing Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, schedules, scopes of work, and manufacturer instructions Ability to develop material lists, plan ahead, verify field conditions, and recognize when clarification or approval is needed Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for email, schedules, timekeeping, photos, JobTread entries, and field communication Valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable for required business travel or use of a company vehicle Core hand tools appropriate to the trade OSHA 10, first-aid training, manufacturer certifications, or relevant trade education are valued but not required at hire Physical and Work Requirements Ability to work regularly on active construction sites in residential, commercial, occupied, unoccupied, and outdoor environments Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work from ladders or approved elevated platforms Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and move heavier materials with assistance or appropriate equipment Ability to use hand and power tools safely and wear required personal protective equipment Ability to work in changing temperatures, weather, dust, noise, and uneven terrain typical of construction sites Ability to travel regularly to projects throughout Central and Southern Maine Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation Compensation and Benefits This is a full-time W-2 hourly position. Starting compensation is $32-$45 per hour based on directly relevant carpentry experience, demonstrated field leadership, and the ability to perform the full scope of the position. Approved overtime may be available.
