Job Description

BAC is seeking an experienced and motivated Framing Carpenter to join our team and work on various construction and trade projects. This position will lead and support carpenters in the field while helping oversee daily self-perform operations. The successful candidate will help ensure a safe, productive, and high-quality work environment while supporting the successful completion of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and can effectively lead a field crew. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Key Responsibilities Foster and maintain an environment that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion. Lead and support the carpentry division and/or trade contractors as assigned. Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure work complies with current building codes and project requirements. Review and interpret contract documents and project specifications. Coordinate work activities and make necessary adjustments to help ensure projects are completed on schedule. Work alongside team members and provide hands-on support at the job site. Assist management with tracking and reporting job progress and maintaining updates in project management software. Monitor subcontractor and contract work to verify compliance with current project documents, specifications, and program standards. Actively promote and maintain a safe work environment and ensure safety procedures are followed on site. Monitor labor hours and material usage for additional work and communicate potential change-order requirements to the Lead Foreman. Maintain a thorough understanding of all active work on the job site and be capable of performing the duties of a Trades Carpenter when needed. Provide direction and support to crew members to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum of 8 years of experience as a carpenter, framer, or in a similar construction role. Strong experience in rough and finish carpentry, with basic maintenance knowledge. Proven ability to lead and direct a crew on a construction job site. Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, subcontractors, project representatives, and clients. Excellent people-management and time-management skills. Ability to read and understand blueprints, plans, specifications, and applicable building codes. Proficient and safe use of power tools and hand tools. Must possess a valid Michigan driver's license. Ability to perform physical work, including reaching, lifting, bending, stretching, climbing, and working in environments with exposure to dust and noise. Ability and willingness to obtain all necessary certifications for the operation of company-owned and rented equipment, including lifts, boom trucks, and skid steers/Bobcats. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading framing crews or working as a Lead Carpenter, Foreman, or similar field leadership role. Strong knowledge of construction practices, job-site coordination, and safety requirements. Ability to identify potential scheduling, labor, material, and quality issues and communicate them to project leadership. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

From $40.00 per hour
