Full-Time Build Your Carpentry Career While Working on One-of-a-Kind Projects We are seeking a dependable and motivated Carpenter to join a skilled team specializing in historic restoration, preservation, and custom carpentry throughout Edenton and the surrounding Eastern North Carolina area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with basic carpentry or construction experience who wants to develop their skills and learn from experienced craftsmen. You'll work hands-on with historic homes and buildings where attention to detail and quality craftsmanship matter. We're not looking for someone who already knows everything. We're looking for someone who has a solid foundation, takes pride in their work, is dependable, and wants to become a highly skilled carpenter . What You'll Do Assist experienced carpenters with historic restoration and preservation projects Perform basic rough and finish carpentry Assist with installation and repair of doors, windows, trim, siding, flooring, and other architectural components Measure, cut, shape, and install wood and other building materials Assist with repairing and recreating historic woodwork and architectural details Safely operate common hand and power tools Perform demolition carefully when historic materials need to be preserved Help maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites Load, unload, and organize tools and building materials Follow plans, measurements, and instructions from lead carpenters and project supervisors Learn traditional and modern carpentry techniques Assist with additional construction and restoration tasks as needed What We're Looking For Some previous carpentry, construction, remodeling, woodworking, or similar hands-on experience Basic knowledge of hand and power tools Ability to accurately use a tape measure Strong attention to detail Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced craftsmen Dependable and able to consistently arrive at jobsites on time Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to perform physical construction work, including lifting materials, climbing ladders, bending, and standing for extended periods Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Commitment to jobsite safety and quality workmanship Experience That Is a Plus Experience in any of the following is helpful but not required : Finish carpentry Trim and millwork Historic restoration or preservation Residential remodeling Window and door restoration Wood siding and exterior trim Custom woodworking Older or historic homes Why This Opportunity?
