Job Description

VICI CONSTRUCTION
Residential Shell Building | Lake Norman Area, NC
JOB DESCRIPTION
Carpenter — Residential Framing About Vici Construction Vici Construction is a residential shell building company serving builders and general contractors throughout the Lake Norman area. We specialize in site work, foundation, framing, windows/doors, and exterior work — delivering complete shells from the ground up. We run small, tight crews and we are growing. If you want to be a name instead of a number, this is that kind of company. The Role We are hiring a competent carpenter who can frame. You will work on a small crew building residential shells from the foundation up — floor systems, walls, roofs, sheathing, windows and doors, and exterior work. This is a hands-on production role for someone who already knows how to swing a hammer and read a plan, not an entry-level spot. What You Will Do Stick frame residential structures — floor systems, wall layout and framing, roof framing, sheathing Read and work from architectural and structural drawings Set windows and exterior doors, install house wrap and exterior systems Assist with footing and foundation form work as project phases require Cut accurately, work to the plan, and hold square, plumb, and level standards Keep the job site clean, organized, and safe throughout the day Communicate problems early — if something does not line up, we want to hear it before it gets buried What We Are Looking For The primary requirement is straightforward: follow the direction of the foreman on tasks and priorities for the day. Then you can take a set of plans along with a helper, and proceed to frame walls independently, while executing the task without needing direct oversight. You must know how to lay out, cut, and build without constant direction.
Required:
Solid working knowledge of residential stick framing — layout, floor systems, walls, headers, rafters and trusses Ability to read and work from residential plans Reliable transportation to job sites — this is non-negotiable, we start on time Your own basic tools and tool belt, including an impact driver and drill Comfortable working outdoors year-round and lifting/carrying materials Show up on time, every day, ready to work Bonus (not required): Concrete form carpentry experience — footings, foundation walls, pour prep Additional tools beyond the basics (saws, nailers, levels, squares) Experience with house wrap, moisture barrier, and window flashing details Familiarity with Fast Foot forming systems, fiberglass rebar, or pump mix pours OSHA 10 or 30 certification Valid driver's license
What We Offer Pay:
$24-$32/hour depending on experience Consistent, year-round work — we build for GCs with active pipelines Overtime paid at 1.5x for pre-approved hours over 40 Paid holidays and paid time off Formal performance review at 6 months with pay adjustment based on performance A real path to advance — lead carpenter and superintendent roles as we grow Location & Schedule Job sites are primarily in the Lake Norman area (Mooresville, Sherrills Ford, and surrounding communities). Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Some Saturdays as project schedules and weather require. How to Apply Send a message telling us what you have framed, how long you have been doing it, and what tools you own. A resume helps but is not required — we care more about what you have built than where you went to school. Strong candidates will be asked to walk a job site with us and talk through what they see.
