Job Description

Overview Join our construction team as a Carpenter's Helper, where you'll play a vital role in supporting skilled carpenter to deliver high-quality small scale residential and commercial projects. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry, woodworking, and construction site operations as well as an introduction to electrical work. Driver's License required. Duties Assist carpenters with measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and other building materials using hand tools and power tools for woodworking. Support the installation of doors, windows, siding, drywall, flooring, and fixtures according to construction plans and technical drawings. Help interpret blueprints and construction plans to ensure accurate material cutting and placement. Prepare job sites by organizing materials, setting up scaffolding or ladders, and ensuring safety protocols such as power tool safety are followed. Participate in framing, metal stud framing, rebar installation, concrete forming, plastering, stucco application, and water damage restoration tasks. Assist with demolition, restoration projects, mold remediation, and remodeling tasks as needed. Perform heavy lifting and assist with the transportation of wood construction materials and other supplies around the site. Experience Previous construction site experience is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided for motivated candidates. Familiarity with hand tools such as hammers, saws, drills, chisels, levels, and measuring tapes is advantageous. Knowledge of power tools for woodworking including saws, drills, sanders, and grinders will help you excel in this role. Understanding of blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings is highly valued. Experience with residential carpentry projects like trim carpentry or door hanging enhances your suitability for this position. Background in framing carpentry or working with woodworking machines is a plus. Candidates with handyman experience or skills will find this role rewarding.
