This position is intended for someone who has at least 1-2 years of hands-on construction experience in one or more of our desired areas and is ready to continue developing their skills. You do not need to be an expert in every aspect of construction, but you should be comfortable working on an active jobsite, taking direction, working independently when appropriate, and producing quality work. Desired Experience Applicants should have at least 1-2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Framing and structural work Roofing Siding and exterior finishes Remodeling and renovations Finish carpentry Drywall and interior work Decks and porches Site work and excavation Concrete and foundation work General residential construction Experience in multiple areas is a plus, but not required . What We're Looking For Our Journeyman-level employees should: Have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated Be dependable and show up ready to work Have basic construction knowledge and jobsite awareness Be able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks Be willing to learn trades outside of their current experience Work well as part of a crew Take pride in workmanship and attention to detail Maintain a clean and organized jobsite Understand and follow jobsite safety requirements Be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Be physically capable of lifting, carrying, climbing, bending, and performing construction-related tasks Be comfortable working at heights and on ladders, scaffolding, and roofs Be able to safely use common hand and power tools Have reliable transportation to and from work Maintain a professional attitude around clients, coworkers, and subcontractors What Sets This Position Apart We are not looking for someone who already knows everything . We are looking for someone who has established construction experience, understands how to work, and wants to continue advancing their skills. Someone with two years of solid framing experience who wants to learn excavation, roofing, siding, and finish work may be a great fit. The same applies to someone coming from roofing, remodeling, concrete, or another construction background. At MCE Construction LLC, our crews work across multiple phases of residential construction and renovation. This provides an opportunity to become a more well-rounded tradesperson rather than remaining limited to one specialty.
