Job Description

The Facilities Master Carpenter provides an invaluable service to the Facilities Construction Department and the entire Sight & Sound team by providing key input in construction project planning, product acquisition, a wide variety of construction installation skills, and the coordination of outside vendors or contractors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide top quality (professional) construction workmanship to build new construction and renovation projects. Installation skills to include but not be limited to wood/metal framing, general carpentry, finish moldings, drywall & finishing, insulating, painting, cabinets/casework, counter tops, concrete, roofing, siding, wall partitions, acoustic ceilings, flooring, railings, and hardware & decor installation. Assist with defining the scope and planning the schedule for new construction projects. Assist with estimating project related costs and acquiring bids. Coordinate and assist outside contractors and internal staff with new construction work. Provide positive and excellent customer service with both internal and external customers.
Prerequisites:
Excellent communication, written, and verbal skills Interpersonal skills; work well with a variety of personalities and preferences Positive attitude under pressure Adaptable and flexible during all phases of a project Confident, proactive, and responsive with strong analytical and problem solving skills Working knowledge of architectural CAD drawing (used to define construction details and establish scope of materials for estimating and purchasing) Proficient use of computer (Microsoft windows and Microsoft Office / Word and Excel) Ability to read construction drawings Working knowledge of commercial facilities maintenance practices and procedures The physical demands of this position are active in nature. You will be expected to be on your feet frequently, walk and stand regularly, consistently communicate with team members using a radio, work indoors, use ladders and other lift equipment, operate heavy machinery and power tools, and frequently lift/exert up to 50 lb.s of force.
