• $40-$50/hour based on experience A small, family-owned company that does things right the first time, looking for a lead who works the same way. Shining Armor Home Improvements is a licensed Rhode Island contractor doing residential renovation and insurance restoration in the Providence area. We're owner-operated and we answer to our customers directly. The business runs on accountability, clean work, and the kind of customer experience that gets us referred to the neighbors. We're growing and need a Lead Carpenter to own our jobs from layout through punch list. If you've been running crews at a shop that treats leads like labor, or doing the lead's job without the lead's title or pay, we want to talk. How we work Right the first time. We'd rather lose an hour now than a day later. Callbacks mean we failed. Accountability runs both ways. You own your jobs and your word. The owner is one phone call away, decisions get made fast, and you'll never be hung out to dry in front of a customer. Customer experience is part of the build. Clean sites, clear communication, homeowners who know what's happening and when. How they feel while we're in their house matters as much as the trim. Technology-forward. We run digital estimating, scheduling, job documentation, and client communication. You don't need to be a tech person, but you can't be allergic to a tablet. Room to grow. We're small enough that your ceiling is what you can handle. Lead Carpenter is the role today; project management is where it goes. What you'll do Run day-to-day work on renovation and restoration projects: framing, rough carpentry, trim, doors, cabinetry, finish Lead the crew on site and set the standard for pace, quality, and cleanliness Coordinate subs so trades land in the right order and nobody waits on anybody Read plans and scopes, pull material lists, catch problems before they become change orders Communicate directly with the owner and with homeowners on site Document progress and issues in our job systems so the whole team works off the same information What we're looking for 10+ years of residential carpentry with depth in both framing and finish Experience leading crews, running jobs with minimal supervision, or both Punctual, reliable, accountable.
