Overview Age-Proof Homes is seeking a skilled Accessibility Remodel Technician to join our growing team dedicated to making homes safer and more accessible for seniors and individuals with disabilities. You'll work on day-to-day accessibility modification projects, working directly with our clients and team to create safer living environments. This position will start part-time with varied hours Monday - Friday. As with the construction industry, hours are not guaranteed due to the nature of work. Anticipated hours are 15-32/week. We are looking for individuals who want to learn, stay and grow with our company. Typical projects include Installing grab bars, shower seats, and other accessibility equipment in various substrates including drywall, ceramic/porcelain tile, and solid surface materials Designing and building custom wheelchair ramps (interior and exterior) Widening doorways for accessibility, including framing and finish work Installing handrails and other safety enhancements Participating in full remodel projects including tub/shower removal and installation of barrier-free or curbless showers This role requires attention to detail, respect for clients' homes, and the ability to problem-solve on the job. We are looking for someone reliable, professional, and passionate about improving lives through accessibility solutions. Primary Responsibilities Perform installations of accessibility equipment with care and precision Safely modify and reinforce walls and floors as needed for structural integrity Work with various materials such as tile, wood, drywall, and solid surfaces Assess job site conditions to avoid damaging plumbing, electrical, or structural elements Communicate clearly with clients, providing respectful and professional service Ensure all projects meet ADA guidelines and best practices for accessibility Maintain tools, materials, and a clean worksite Collaborate with our project manager and other team members on larger remodels Qualifications 3+ years of carpentry, remodeling, or handyman experience required Experience installing grab bars, shower seats, and similar accessibility equipment preferred Strong knowledge of framing, finish carpentry, and drywall repair Comfortable working with ceramic tile, porcelain tile, and solid surface materials Ability to read plans, take measurements, and problem-solve on-site Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems (basic level) Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass a background check Friendly, respectful, and compassionate attitude toward clients (many of whom are seniors or have disabilities) Why Work with Age-Proof Homes?
