For more than 30 years, Keuler Fine Homes has built some of the finest custom homes in the Madison area. We deliberately limit our schedule to six to eight homes each year so we can focus on quality, craftsmanship, and the details that set our homes apart. We're looking for a dependable, motivated carpenter who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a team, has a willingness to "do what it takes" and wants to contribute to building exceptional custom homes. What You'll Do Responsibilities will vary depending on the project and stage of construction and may include: Performing general carpentry and other work such as: framing, framing punch-list items, painting, prep work for other subcontractors, cleaning sites, material pick ups, and other work as instructed by project management team. Following construction plans, specifications, and direction from the project management team. Measuring, cutting, fitting, and installing materials accurately. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe job site. Working cooperatively with other carpenters, subcontractors, and project team members. Identifying potential issues and communicating questions or concerns before they become bigger problems. Taking direction, applying feedback, and continually developing your carpentry skills. Daily logs of information about completion of work items, observations at the site, questions and other items as needed. You don't need to know everything or be an expert in every area of carpentry. We do expect you to take pride in your work, be willing to put in the effort, and care about doing the job right. What We're Looking For Previous carpentry experience, preferably in residential construction. A solid understanding of basic carpentry skills, tools, and building practices. The ability to read a tape measure accurately and work comfortably with fractions and measurements. Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. A willingness to take direction, ask questions, and learn from more experienced team members. The ability to recognize when something doesn't look right and bring it to someone's attention. A flexible, dependable, positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Must be comfortable working on elevated platforms, ladders, scaffolding, lift basket, etc. The ability to type and communicate via email, text and project management software. Someone who works well with others, communicates respectfully, and takes responsibility for their work. A commitment to maintaining a professional, safe, and organized jobsite.
