Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Concrete Footing & Poured Wall Superintendent to lead and oversee all aspects of footing and poured wall construction projects from layout through completion. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage large-scale concrete foundations, ensure safety compliance, and deliver projects on time and within budget. This is a senior field leadership position for an individual with hands-on commercial concrete experience. We are looking for someone who understands production, layout, forming systems, quality, safety, and crew management and who can take responsibility for getting commercial foundation work completed correctly and efficiently. Duties Lead and supervise all phases of footing and poured wall construction projects from initial planning through completion. Responsible for layout utilizing GPS layout systems and robotic total stations. Manage and direct crews, subcontractors, and suppliers on-site to maintain productivity and safety standards. Review blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to verify project specifications and ensure accurate interpretation of construction plans. Enforce adherence to OSHA regulations and federal construction safety standards to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel. Conduct quality control inspections to guarantee that poured walls and footings meet design specifications, building codes, and industry standards. Oversee project documentation including contracts, change orders, daily reports, safety logs, and project schedules using tools like Prolog or Construction management software. Collaborate with project managers on budgeting, resource allocation, and schedule adjustments to optimize project performance. Supervise the review of construction drawings for accuracy and clarity; interpret technical schematics as needed for crew guidance. Implement best practices in concrete forming, reinforcement placement, curing processes, and finishing techniques to ensure durable results. Skills 10-15 years experience in managing commercial concrete footing and poured wall projects with proven supervisory success. Construction layout and surveying Establishing benchmarks, control points, offsets, gridlines and elevations. GPS layout systems Robotic total stations Western aluminum concrete forming systems MEVA concrete forming systems Form setup, bracing, plumbing, stripping, and efficient form cycling Reinforcing steel placement and coordination Strong knowledge of construction regulations including OSHA standards and federal safety protocols specific to concrete work sites. Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans with precision. Excellent management abilities in supervising teams, managing crews in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety standards. Ability to coordinate construction schedules effectively with project timelines Deep understanding of quality control procedures related to concrete forming, reinforcement placement (rebar), curing methods, and finishing techniques. Effective communication skills for managerial roles—managing subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal teams seamlessly. Knowledge of contracts management including reviewing scopes of work and change orders; familiarity with construction regulations governing commercial projects.
