ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Join Reading Precast as a Welder/Fabricator and become a key member of our manufacturing team! We're looking for an experienced, self-motivated welder who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys building and improving equipment used in the production of precast concrete products. This role is primarily focused on fabricating, repairing, and modifying steel forms and aluminum components used throughout our operation. You'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, help improve production efficiency, and play an important part in moving our company forward. Approximately 70% of your time will be spent welding and fabricating, with the remaining 30% supporting maintenance and facility improvement projects.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Fabricate, repair, modify, and maintain steel forms used in production. Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel and aluminum components. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and specifications to accurately fabricate components. Operate welding equipment, plasma cutters, torches, grinders, and other fabrication equipment. Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, front loader, and material handling equipment safely. Assist the maintenance department with equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, facility improvements, and production support projects. Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all company safety standards and OSHA requirements.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required High school diploma or GED Minimum 5 years of welding and fabrication experience Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly Preferred Experience fabricating production forms, molds, or custom steel structures. Forklift and overhead crane operating experience. Manufacturing, precast concrete, or construction industry experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

You'll work primarily indoors in our manufacturing facility. This position involves welding, cutting, grinding, lifting materials, operating fabrication equipment, forklifts, front loader and overhead cranes. Exposure to welding fumes, sparks, heat, noise, and industrial equipment is expected. All required PPE is provided and safety is a top priority.

SCHEDULE

Full-time position, Monday through Friday. Work hours determined by operational needs. Overtime available to meet production deadlines and customer commitments.
