Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Residential Electrical Foreman to oversee residential electrical projects from planning through completion. This position is responsible for leading field crews, coordinating project resources, maintaining schedules, and ensuring installations are completed safely, efficiently, within budget, and in accordance with the National Electrical Code and project requirements. The ideal candidate brings advanced electrical knowledge, proven leadership experience, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to mentoring and developing team members. Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Performance Lead and supervise electrical crews on active residential job sites. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site, including the proper storage of materials, tools, and equipment. Model professionalism, integrity, accountability, punctuality, and high-quality workmanship. Identify job-site challenges and implement solutions that minimize disruptions to the project schedule. Address conflicts involving crew members, subcontractors, general contractors, or other trades professionally and constructively. Recognize employee contributions and provide coaching, feedback, and resources to support accountability and professional growth. Participate in or conduct employee performance evaluations. Safety and Compliance Promote and enforce a safety-first culture that complies with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Conduct weekly toolbox talks and ensure required acknowledgments and attachments are completed in Traqspera. Report and document all incidents, injuries, and safety hazards promptly, including supporting photographs when applicable. Ensure employees properly use required personal protective equipment. Maintain fully stocked first-aid kits and follow company procedures for first-aid incidents. Follow all utility-locate and One Call procedures for excavation activities, including required pre-dig and post-dig photographs. Project Coordination Develop and maintain project schedules aligned with allocated labor hours and project deadlines. Evaluate staffing requirements and request additional crew members when necessary. Assign employees based on their experience, skills, and developmental needs. Participate in preconstruction, mid-construction, and post-construction meetings. Communicate regularly with the Field Coordinator, Department Director, general contractor, site superintendent, and other trades. Coordinate and schedule inspections throughout each phase of construction. Materials, Tools, and Equipment Plan and request materials, tools, and equipment at least 48 hours in advance. Monitor material orders and confirm that supplies are available when needed. Track and organize materials stored on job sites and in company vehicles, trailers, or Connex units. Maintain accurate accountability for tools and equipment, including transfers and returns. Promptly report lost, stolen, damaged, or malfunctioning tools and equipment. Coordinate deliveries with the Warehouse Director and material suppliers to prevent project delays. Technical Expertise and Quality Control Read, scale, interpret, and cross-reference electrical blueprints, schematics, specifications, and submittals. Review project plans regularly to remain informed of revisions and requirements. Identify conflicts involving electrical plans, project conditions, or other trades. Prepare and submit requests for information and change-order requests in coordination with the Field Coordinator or Department Director. Ensure electrical installations comply with the National Electrical Code, approved plans, and project specifications. Conduct quality-control inspections, identify deficiencies, and ensure corrections are completed. Training and Mentorship Train team members on proper electrical techniques, troubleshooting methods, material usage, and safety requirements. Teach employees how to read and navigate blueprints and apply information from multiple plan sections. Provide hands-on instruction for residential wiring, circuits, receptacles, and electrical service equipment. Mentor at least one employee for future leadership opportunities in coordination with the Field Coordinator. Support Hill Electric's apprenticeship and employee-development programs. Serve as a guest, substitute, or regular instructor at the HEI apprenticeship school when requested. Customer and Administrative Responsibilities Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, inspectors, and project partners. Keep customers and contractors informed of schedules, project changes, identified concerns, resolutions, and next steps. Document work progress, customer communications, project changes, photographs, and relevant decisions. Complete and submit accurate work orders and daily logs promptly. Provide weekly project updates and detailed logs to the Field Coordinator. Enter employee work hours daily and approve weekly timecards in Traqspera. Review and approve employee PTO requests promptly. Complete assigned Trainual courses within the required timeframe. Follow the established chain of command and respond promptly to company communications. Qualifications Valid Journeyman Electrician License or Residential Master Electrician License required. Current OSHA 10 certification required. Two to four years of Level 2 Foreman experience. Successful completion of applicable apprenticeship levels and required level testing. Advanced knowledge of residential electrical systems, tools, materials, and safety standards. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction documents. Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, train, and hold team members accountable. Strong planning, organization, communication, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and effectively manage labor, schedules, materials, tools, and equipment. Ability to perform physical labor and work in varying weather and job-site conditions. Willingness to continue learning and expanding technical and leadership skills. Job Type Full-time Compensation and Benefits Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications. $25.00 - $29.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
