Viejas Casino & Resort , San Diego's Premier Four Diamond Gaming and Resort destination, is looking for a Plumbing Supervisor to join our maintenance team!
Summary:
Supervises the day-to-day operation of journey level plumbing team members who maintain and install plumbing and upkeep potable and non-potable water systems as well as sewage and drainage systems; performs related work as required. Performs journey level work in connection with the maintenance, trouble shooting, repair, and installation of plumbing systems.
CORE SCOPE OF POSITION
Supervises the day-to-day operation of the Plumbing team members who assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes. Develops and monitors schedules and staffing throughout the shift to always ensure proper coverage. Observes, monitors, trains, coaches, and documents team members' guest service and technical performance. Ensure staff achieve results while performing their assigned tasks. Ensures Plumbing systems function properly, minimizes breakdowns and other interruptions in service. Trains staff on the expectations and responsibilities of their positions. Ensure staff is trained in all departmental procedures, rules, regulations, and standards. Ensure staff is aware of marketing promotions and changes related to Viejas Enterprises' policies and procedures. Develop and implement maintenance programs to maintain all plumbing systems, components, fixtures, and equipment according to established maintenance practices and manufacturer's requirements. Designs and develops detailed plans/specifications and cost estimates for new installations and repairs. Develop a bill for materials, estimate hours, and submit completed job package to manager. Oversees the repair of systems, components, fixtures, and equipment in response to trouble calls, work orders, or specific assignments for manager. Diagnoses malfunctioning machinery with other maintenance workers, such as supervisors, and other maintenance staff to diagnose the cause of the malfunction. Tests malfunctioning machinery with other maintenance staff to diagnose the cause of the malfunction. Coordinates construction projects with other supervisors within the department and other casino personnel. Functions as project manager for work to be contracted to outside vendors to ensure that outside contractors comply with all aspects of their contract in a timely and cost-effective manner throughout the course of work. Plans layout of plumbing systems across the property. Inspect buildings, facilities, and equipment and make recommendations to manager. May be required to assist with estimating, material takeoffs, project specifications, maintaining files of specifications, blueprints, and diagrams generated from field investigations. Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors, using ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob. Uses hand and power tools to cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Uses pipe cutters, torches, and pipe threading machine to cut and thread pipe. Bends pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand. Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals (such as iron, steel and brass) and nonmetals (such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic) using hand and power tools. Joints pipe by using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent and caulking on certain joints. Perform pressure testing by filling pipe system with water or air and reading pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking. Removes, installs and repairs plumbing fixtures, including sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners. Repairs and maintain plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending failed pipe or fittings, and opening clogged drains. Ensure repairs are made as soon as possible with tools and material readily available. Owns all requests and complaints, provides immediate resolutions and follows up to ensure guest satisfaction. Ensures adherence to guest service standards as established by the department and the organization. Keeps the management informed on all pertinent information that may affect the department, and reports issues and problems as they arise, along with recommendations for solutions. Maintains appropriate communication with management and other departments with a follow up to ensure completion of tasks that may affect the delivery of exceptional service. Promotes team-oriented philosophy and emphasizes the importance of unparalleled commitment to excellence in service. Creates a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, respect, professionalism, and team member satisfaction. Maintains knowledge of areas and technology. Organizes and holds staff meetings to ensure team members are up to date on all special events, promotions, programs, and activities. Complies with and enforces standard operating procedures and applicable governmental laws and regulations. Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained. Adheres to all company and department policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.
