Job Description

Service Electrician Manager Towery Electric Novato, CA (Marin County) Full-time | Competitive compensation based on experience About Towery Electric Towery Electric is a licensed California C-10 electrical contractor (License #989290) based in Novato, serving Marin County and the North Bay since 2013. Founded and still led by Alex Towery, we are known for builder-trusted, inspection-ready craftsmanship on custom homes, residential remodels, panel upgrades, EV chargers, backup power, lighting control (including Lutron), and selective commercial work.
We stay intentionally focused:
owner-involved, direct crews (no heavy subcontracting), clean job sites, labeled panels, first-pass inspections, and straight answers for homeowners and builders. Roughly half our work is builder-led custom homes and half is direct residential/service. We prioritize quality, code compliance, and long-term relationships over volume. The Role We are hiring a Service Electrician Manager to lead and grow our service operations. This is a hands-on leadership role in a small, high-standards company. You will oversee the service team, scheduling, customer experience, quality, and profitability of service work (troubleshooting, repairs, small projects, emergency calls, and maintenance) while upholding the same builder-grade standards we apply to custom homes. You will report directly to the owner and work closely with field electricians, the office, and customers. Expect a mix of field leadership, scheduling/dispatch coordination, quality oversight, customer communication, and hands-on work. Key Responsibilities Lead, schedule, and support the service electrician team (dispatching, daily routing, workload balance, and coverage for calls and small projects). Ensure every service job meets Towery standards: clean work, code compliance, clear labeling, thorough troubleshooting, and professional customer communication. Handle or oversee intake, triage, and follow-up on service calls; set clear expectations with customers and resolve issues promptly. Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to technicians and apprentices; reinforce safety culture and best practices. Review completed work for quality, callbacks, and warranty issues; address root causes. Support estimating or pricing for service work and small projects as needed; track job profitability and material/labor efficiency. Coordinate with the office on scheduling, inventory, vehicles, and documentation (permits, photos, notes). Maintain strong relationships with homeowners and builders; represent the company professionally on site and by phone. Participate in safety meetings, process improvements, and growth of the service side of the business. Be available for occasional after-hours or emergency coordination consistent with company needs. Qualifications Required Valid California electrical certification (journeyman or higher preferred); ability to work under our C-10 license. 7+ years of residential/commercial electrical experience, with significant time in service, troubleshooting, or lead/foreman roles. Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills (panels, circuits, lighting, EV, generators, controls, etc.). Proven ability to lead or supervise electricians/apprentices. Excellent communication and customer-service skills—comfortable explaining technical issues clearly and professionally. Solid knowledge of the California Electrical Code / NEC, Title 24 considerations, and local permitting. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check. Comfortable with field service software, scheduling tools, and basic reporting. Preferred Prior service manager, service lead, or similar supervisory experience in a residential-focused electrical contractor. Experience with high-end residential, custom homes, lighting control systems, EV chargers, or backup power. Familiarity with Marin/North Bay codes, inspectors, and builder relationships. Comfort with tools such as Jobber, Housecall Pro, or similar field-service platforms. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. What We Offer Competitive pay commensurate with experience and responsibility (Bay Area market rates for skilled leadership roles). Opportunity to grow with an established, reputation-driven company that values craftsmanship. Direct access to the owner and involvement in decisions that shape the service department. Company vehicle, tools, and equipment support as appropriate for the role. Benefits package (details discussed during the interview process—typical offerings in this market include health coverage, retirement contributions, and paid time off). A culture focused on quality work, respect for homes and customers, and doing the job right the first time. How to Apply Send your resume and a short note about your relevant service or leadership experience to office@toweryelectric.com. Please include "Service Electrician Manager" in the subject line. We are based at 46 Digital Drive #1, Novato, CA 94949. Primary service area is Marin County and the nearby North Bay. Towery Electric is an equal-opportunity employer. We hire based on skill, reliability, and alignment with our standards for quality and professionalism.
