Working Roofing & Exterior ForemanJob Summary Knipp Roofing & Exteriors is seeking an experienced, hands-on Roofing & Exterior Foreman to lead and work alongside our in-house production crew. This is a working foreman position. The right candidate will be actively involved in installation while directing the crew, maintaining a safe and organized jobsite, monitoring workmanship, and ensuring each project is completed correctly and efficiently. Our in-house crew performs a variety of residential and light commercial exterior work, including shingle and flat roofing, siding, soffit and fascia, windows, exterior doors, gutter guards, repairs, and other exterior improvements. We are looking for someone with strong roofing experience who is comfortable leading a crew across different types of exterior projects. Responsibilities Lead and work alongside the in-house crew on roofing and exterior projects Review the daily scope of work and make sure the crew understands the project requirements Coordinate with the Project Manager and Project Coordinator regarding scheduling, materials, job progress, and unexpected site conditions Oversee the installation and repair of shingle and flat roofing systems Assist with siding, soffit, fascia, windows, exterior doors, gutter guards, and related exterior work Assign tasks based on crew members' experience and the needs of the project Monitor workmanship throughout the job and correct issues before the project is completed Enforce company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements Ensure appropriate fall protection and other required safety equipment are used Inspect the jobsite, materials, tools, and equipment before and during production Identify damaged decking, hidden conditions, material shortages, or other concerns and report them promptly Keep jobsites clean, organized, and respectful of the customer's property Complete required job photos, daily updates, and project documentation Confirm completed work matches the approved scope before leaving the jobsite Help load, unload, secure, and account for company tools, equipment, and materials Train and guide crew members while promoting teamwork, accountability, and quality craftsmanship Qualifications Previous hands-on roofing experience is required Experience leading or supervising a roofing or exterior construction crew is strongly preferred Strong knowledge of shingle roofing installation and repair Experience with flat roofing systems is strongly preferred Experience with siding, soffit, fascia, windows, doors, gutter guards, or other exterior work is a plus Ability to identify common roofing and exterior installation problems Ability to understand work orders, measurements, manufacturer instructions, and project specifications Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Dependable, punctual, and able to keep a crew productive Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for job photos, updates, and basic project documentation Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers, management, customers, and other trades Physical Requirements Ability to safely climb ladders and work at heights Ability to lift and carry roofing materials, tools, ladders, and equipment Ability to bend, kneel, climb, stand, and perform physical construction work throughout the day Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions Ability to properly use personal protective equipment and fall-protection systems What We're Looking For We need someone who takes ownership of the jobsite, works well with others, and sets the standard for the crew through both leadership and hands-on effort. The ideal candidate notices problems before they become callbacks, communicates when something changes, and takes pride in leaving behind quality work and a clean jobsite. This is not a subcontractor position or a project-management-only role. It is a full-time, hands-on position leading Knipp Roofing & Exteriors' in-house crew.
Pay:
$30.00 - $38.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 45.0 per week
