Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Working Shop Foreman:
Commercial Architectural Millwork, Casework and Cabinet Manufacturer seeking experienced Working Shop Foreman with a strong comprehension of the production and manufacturing process for high end, commercial millwork. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations while actively participating in the manufacturing and fabrication of custom cabinetry and millwork. Candidate will manage multiple projects and production schedules, material coordination, delivery schedules and final quality check prior to delivery, working closely with Project Managers and the Engineering Department. Required Qualifications:
Experience:
5+ years of hands on cabinet making and customer woodworking experience.
Leadership:
1+ years in a lead, mentor, or supervisory role.
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret complex architectural woodwork blueprints and shop drawings.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong proficiency with standard woodworking machinery and hand tools.
Physical Demand:
Ability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Required Qualifications & Standards:
Woodworking Mastery:
Minimum of 5 years of professional cabinet making and custom commercial or residential woodworking experience.
Leadership Capability:
Demonstrated ability to organize, mentor, and direct a production crew effectively.
Physical & Environmental Demands Physical Stature:
Ability to stand and walk on concrete shop floors for full 8-10 hour shifts.
Heavy Lifting:
Ability to regularly lift, carry, and maneuver materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently, and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Shop Environment:
Comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment subject to high noise levels, wood dust, and finish fumes within regulatory safety thresholds.
